World Day of the Sick Celebrated as Holy Family Hospital Commissions Mother and Child Centre in Berekum.

The Catholic Bishop of the Sunyani Dioceses, Most Rev Matthew Kwasi Gyamfi has extended a word of advice to health professionals to exercise restraint in their dealings with the sick people.


Speaking at the Holy Family Hospital in Berekum during the World Day of the Sick Celebration, he called on Doctors and Nurses to work with care to avoid negligence of duty in their services.

He said, the hospital through their internal generated fund and from the support of others has constructed the mother and child center to boost the maternal and child health care for the purpose of economic and social development. 


The world Day of the sick celebration was used to commissioned the new Mother and Child Centre at the Holy Family Hospital.



The Medical Director of the Hospital, Dr Frank Gyamfi added that, the hospital is doing all that they can to ensure maternal health is improved from pregnancy, childbirth and after labor to help reduce maternal death.


He explained that, antenatal, natal, postnatal is one of the top most priority of the hospital hence the construction of the mother and child center.


The Member of Parliament for Berekum East, Hon. Simon Amparbeng Kyeremeh also commended authorities of the hospital for their vision to provide to the people of Berekum such an edifice to support pregnant women and children in Berekum and it's environs.

He pledge for his continues support towards the progress of the hospital to ensure other infrastructures are put in place to help save a lot of lives.


Some pregnant women also expressed their satisfaction and said the new mother and child centre has come to reduce all their frustration they have been experiencing some time past during antenatal.
