COCBOD CEO Pays Visit To Berekum Cocoa Farmers.

The Chief Executive Officer of Ghana COCOBOD Dr Ransford Abbey has paid a working visit to cocoa farmers in both Berekum East and West respectively of the Bono region to interact with the farmers to encourage them in the cocoa production in the area.


Dr Ransford Abbey visit was warmly welcomed by a massive patronage of the farmers to share with the CEO their interest as farmers in the cocoa production.


Dr Abbey officially congratulated the farmers for their hard work in the cocoa business hence promised them of the government readiness to increase the price of cocoa higher than that of Cote' d'Ivoire in the next cocoa season.


He again assured the farmers of the regular supply of farm inputs such as free fertilizers, agrochemicals, machines and other equipments to ensure more yield of cocoa is produced in the Berekum area.


Some of the farmers also called on the CEO to help facilitate the cocoa farmers pensions which was introduced by the previous government but did not materialise, farmers scholarships schemes and other support to boost the interest in the cocoa value chain production.



The chief farmers together with the MP of both Berekum East and West Hon. Elder Simon Amparbeng Kyeremeh and Hon. Dickson Kyere-Duah aka Stugard as well as the farmers expressed their appreciation to see the CEO who has given the assurance to increase the cocoa price in the next cocoa season in August 2025.
