24-Years Rule of NPP Broken in Berekum East by NDC MP Elect Promising to Reward the People with Development.
The Berekum East Constituency, National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament elect, Elder Simon Amparbeng Kyeremeh has broken the 24 years rule of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Constituency of the Bono Region in the 2024, 7th December general elections with a margin of 23, 476 votes as against his main contender NPP Hon. NelsonKyeremeh votes of 14, 356.
In his appreciation message after being declared as the Member of Parliament by the Electoral Commission Officers, Elder Simon Amparbeng Kyeremeh first gave thanks to God and thanked the people of Berekum saying "I'm eternally grateful for this massive victory to bring me on board to transform Berekum".
He said, the victory is bringing a relieve to the people of Berekum after 24 years of NPP rule, and this is a time Berekum as a golden city is going to be rebranded to attract the golden city image status with the help of everyone.
According to him, for the honour the people of Berekum has done him, he too is going to in turn reward the people with developmental projects.
Adding that, his win is a victory for development which he is going to embark on a massive challenge for development to ensure Berekum is back on track for development after 24 years of NPP retardation.
Elder Simon Amparbeng Kyeremeh in his speech explained that, now he has broken the grip of NPP, he will bring everyone who matters in Berekum on board to build an inclusive development for the progress of Berekum.
He thanked all and sundry including the party supporters, EC officials, security agencies, the media, traditional leaders, and everyone who made his victory possible.
He emphasised that, he will leave no stone unturn to work from all sectors of development including education, health, road, skill training, jobs, and among others to ensure Berekum achieve a stable development.
