First Time Voters Advised To Vote With Integrity in Berekum.

Ghana Anti-Corruption Coalition, Ghana Integrity Initiative, Citizens Watch Ghana with support from the US Embassy Ghana has organised an education for some selected students of first time voters within Berekum East and West Constituencies respectively.


Mr. George Yennekon, the Berekum East Municipal NCCE Director, elaborated that, the education seeks to enlighten the first time voters to be circumspect on their rights to vote devoid of being influenced with any financial or material gains.




He said, electoral integrity is very important because the process involved in the elections should be free from intimidation and other intriguing challenges that may hamper the fairness of the elections.


The Executive Director for Citizens Watch Ghana and Focal Person for Berekum East and West LANets, Simon Asore, also encouraged the first-time student voters to do well to take part in the coming elections. 


He said, their vote is their power and if they don't use it, others will use it against you. 



He said the future belongs to the youth and it begins with the decision they make today. 


Mr Simon Asore asked the students to be law abiding on the day of elections and encouraged them to report suspicious acts of individuals to the security agencies for action.


At the Berekum Senior High School and Jinijini Senior High School, majority of the first-time voters were highly excited to experience such an exercise to know that their voice also matters as first-time voters.


The headmaster of the Jinijini Senior High School, Mr Joakim Kwaku Sah, commended the organisers for such an event and advised them to understand the guiding principles of the elections.




He called on the students to make sure they should cast their vote come 7th December elections because it is an important exercise to be part of this year's elections.


The staff of the Jinijini Senior High School, including Madam Grace Afiako, Headmistress in charge of Administration and Mr Eric Atiamo in charge of academics and other teachers were present at the event.

NSOATRE TRADITIONAL COUNCIL CONDEMNS THE VIOLENCE ACT THAT RESULTED THE DEATH OF KOTOKO SUPPORTER. The Nsoatre Traditional Council has condemns the uncouth behavour of some of the football fans that led to the untimely death of an ardent supporter of Kumasi Asante Football Club.  According to Nsuatre Traditional Council this  unfortunate behaviour happened on the stool land of Nsoatre which the council sees as unfortunate due to the cordial relationship between Nsoatreman and Asanteman which is dated back to 1740.
