The 1997 year group of Asuaa Ababio Methodist Preparatory and Junior High School (JHS) has demonstrated a remarkable gesture of gratitude and philanthropic approach to award a scholarship to five brilliant but needy students.

In collaboration with the Prof. Afriyie Foundation, the year group, has committed to supporting these students financially until they complete their JHS education. This generous initiative aims to alleviate the financial burdens on these students and their families, enabling them to focus on their academic pursuits.

In addition to the scholarships, the year group also donated three marker boards to the school, further enhancing the learning environment for current students.

Led by distinguished members, including Frank Andy Oppong (Tutor at Salvation Army SHS), Dr. Paa Kwasi Bodo (Lecturer at UNER Dormaa Campus), Mrs. Patricia Ntow Yeboah (Headmistress of Methodist Primary Dormaa) and several others, the year group's efforts have been met with widespread acclaim.

Mr. Frank Andy Oppong, in his address to the media made this statement and said the year group will keep visiting their Alma mater to support it whenever the need arises.

This selfless act by the 1997 year group serves as a shining example of the positive impact that alumni can have on their alma mater and the broader community. Their generosity will undoubtedly inspire others to follow in their footsteps, fostering a culture of giving back and supporting the next generation of leaders.
