1997 Year Group of Asuaa Ababio Methodist Preparatory and JHS Gives Back to Alma Mater.

The 1997 year group of Asuaa Ababio Methodist Preparatory and Junior High School (JHS) has demonstrated a remarkable gesture of gratitude and philanthropic approach to award a scholarship to five brilliant but needy students.


In collaboration with the Prof. Afriyie Foundation, the year group, has committed to supporting these students financially until they complete their JHS education. This generous initiative aims to alleviate the financial burdens on these students and their families, enabling them to focus on their academic pursuits.


In addition to the scholarships, the year group also donated three marker boards to the school, further enhancing the learning environment for current students.



Led by distinguished members, including Frank Andy Oppong (Tutor at Salvation Army SHS), Dr. Paa Kwasi Bodo (Lecturer at UNER Dormaa Campus), Mrs. Patricia Ntow Yeboah (Headmistress of Methodist Primary Dormaa) and several others, the year group's efforts have been met with widespread acclaim.


Mr. Frank Andy Oppong, in his address to the media made this statement and said the year group will keep visiting their Alma mater to support it whenever the need arises. 






Very Rev. Nicholas Afrifa, Superintendent Minister of the Methodist Church in Dormaa and Proprietor of the school, expressed his heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the institution. He praised the 1997 year group for their kindness and urged others to emulate or surpass their example.


This selfless act by the 1997 year group serves as a shining example of the positive impact that alumni can have on their alma mater and the broader community. Their generosity will undoubtedly inspire others to follow in their footsteps, fostering a culture of giving back and supporting the next generation of leaders.

Berekum Katohemaa reinntroduces Traditional Akan Games for Children at Kato Community. The Queen Mother of Berekum-Kato who also doubles as the Wrempehemaa of Berekum Traditional Area, in the Berekum East Municipal of the Bono region, Nana Afia Siraah Ababio III has reintroduced a traditional games and plays at her community to rebuild the lost akan culture of our traditions to inculcate in the young children between the ages of 6 and 17 years in Berekum and its environs.  Vedio Play: Speaking to Nanahemaa at her palace, she said, she early founded Asuama Kyere Community Mobile Library Ghana (AKCOMLIB-GH) to inculcate the habit of reading among the school going children since 2011 within the Berekum East Municipality as well as the entire Brong Ahafo region respectively has yielded a lot of positive result among the children to motivate them to read a book a week. Sunyani East, Kotokrom-New Dormaa Tarred Road Gets Second Seal. The ongoing construction of the major road of the New Dormaa-Kotokrom road in the Sunyani Municipality of the Bono Region which was recently primer sealed for the final seal started today Saturday 16th March. 2024 to complete the one-sided of the road. Government has intention of asphalting that high way in the near future. For the mean tine it is being tarred to prepare grounds for an asphalt overlay.
