"I am Not Dead," Berekum Omanhemaa Debunks Fake News of Her Being Declared Dead On Social Media.
The Paramount Queen Mother of Berekum Traditional Area in the Bono region, Nana Akosua Ameyaahene III on Tuesday 28th May, 2024 has debunked an alleged fake news purported to declare her dead and circulating on social media through the Facebook by unscrupulous Facebook page of Ohene David.
Nana Akosua Ameyaahene III, speaking in a press conference with the media in Berekum, condemned the fake news that has been circulating on the social media for some weeks to disinform the general public which she debunked that she is dead, which to her, she doesn't know the motive behind such information and why people are spreading such fake news about her and wishing her dead.
According to her, she has been truthful and frank for the past 7 years of her reign as a queen mother in Berekum and believes such an action on social media is out of a sheer jealousy of her being tact on issues in the Berekum Traditional Area has been the reasons some people are against her.
She explained that, she has tried her best in several ways to put things in order in Berekum township but some leaders in Berekum have had a challenge with her especially in her attempt to allow Berekumman Citizens Association to construct a modern toilet at the Berekum main station which has become a standstill and prevented with court actions, also planned to support Rawlings Market traders who have been neglected and abandoned over the use of their market due to court injunction that has been placed on that market and among other disturbing issues hampering the progress of Berekum are what she has been going through.
Nana Akosua Ameyaahene in her speech, stated strongly and send a word of caution to all those wishing her dead which she said, it is not her that they are dealing with rather the diety of Berekum and the ancestral spirits who installed her on the queen mother's seat.
She expressed worry over the fake news and called on the people of Berekum to treat the false information about her the contempt it deserves whiles she advised the youth who tagged her dead on social media to desist from such kind of attitude showing respect to the elderly which will prolong their life.
She emphasized that, there is nothing she will do but will hand over the case to the traditional oracle of the land to deal with the naysayers spreading false news about her being dead.
