Speaking at the ceremony, the Chairman for the occasion, Kotaahene and Adontenhene of Berekum Traditional Area, Osaberima Kwaku Baa Brintu II commended the farmers for their hard work.

According to him, Berekum was established out of farming therefore, the people should all understand to practise farming by every family in Berekum and encourage the youth to get involved in farming rather than to indulge in any other illicit activities that do not bring glory to their lives.

The MCE of Berekum East Municipal Hon. Kofi Adjei also emphasised the need to protect the environment from bushfires as we are getting close to the dry season hence urging the farmers and everyone to avoid sending fire to the farm in the dry season.
