Korle Bu Teaching Hospital Outpatient Dialysis Centre to Resume Operation after it has taken Delivery of Reagents.

Korleb-Bu Teaching Hospital according to report is in short of essential chrmical reagents for their dialysis department but the Hospital Outpatient Dialysis Centre is set to resume operation after it has taken delivery of reagents. 


Out-patient at the hospital has gone through a lot of challenges to be referred to a private hospitals making it difficult for the patients to bear the cost of private dialysis treatment for the past 4 months but the Management of the Hospital has worked toward it to bring the situation under control. 


Kwaku Amani Asante, a patient confirmed this to TV3 News360 about the challenges they are going through financially to be able to recieve private treatment at a cost which is more than what they are being charged at Korleb-Bu at Ghc500 00 in a week dialysis treatment compared to a private treatment, he said.


The Public Relations Officer (PRO) for Korleb-Bu Teaching Hospital, Mustapha Salifu speaking to TV3 News360 on Sunday 24th September,  2023 on the situation siad, the hospital dialysis center has been closed down since May 2023 and are relying on 2 other centers within the hospital but the Management is working to put things in place to bring a change to the center to enable the center work again since a new consignment has been received. 


Operations at the outpatient dialysis centre got suspended as the supplier failed to supply the chemicals over contractual disagreement with the hospital.


He said the Hospital was experiencing contractual difficulties with the supplyers over chemical reagents but have managed to resolve the situation to start operation next week as a new consignment of reagents chemicals have been received making it possible to start operation next week. 


The hospital will in the course of the week resume work at the unit for the patients.
