Residents of the Suhum Kukua and Miawani area, in the Suhum Municipality of the Eastern Region, are calling on the government to give priority to road construction projects in the area.

The aggrieved residents appealed through the Suhum municipal assembly and the MP for Suhum Constituency whom they pleaded to come to their aid.

They said the construction of Kukua to Miawani road is not beyond the capabilities of their Member of Parliament, Hon. Kwadwo Oboafo Asante and their Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Margaret Darko as they claim roads at other localities within the Suhum Municipality have been constructed by the Assembly hence the need for Kukua to Miawani to also benefit from proper road constructions.

The aggrieved residents said they have severally petitioned authorities to consider reshaping the various roads, but nothing has been done hence their decision to boycott the 2024 general election if the road is not constructed.

Our roads are our main concern, we have made numerous appeals to the Municipal Assembly but all our appeals have fallen on deaf ears. They said.

They continued; We are pleading with Hon. Kwadwo Oboafo Asante, to come to their aid,  because we are suffering a lot from our road, we have heard he has constructed roads in other areas so we pray he comes to our aid.

The residents claim successive governments have neglected them so far as the construction of roads is concerned. Pregnant women are dying, children are dying, and when they fall sick they find it difficult to go to the hospital.

Assemblyman for the area, Hon. Ransford Norvor speaking with Alrich24newsgh.com news reporter Apelete Kofi-Michel. He said they have cocoa,  Cassava,  maize, Plantain etc Due to the bad nature of their road farmers are suffering.
