Omanhene of Berekum Traditional Area, Dasebre Dr Amankona Diawuo II Passes On.

The Omanhene of Berekum Traditional Area in the Berekum Municipal of the Bono Region Dasebre Dr Amankona Diawuo II has passed on.


The announcement of the demise of the Berekum Traditional leader was done today Friday 9th June 2023 by the chief spiritualist of Berekum Nana Komfo Kofi who was asked to take care of the health of the paramount chief but on his announcement, the paramount chief could not make it but joined his ancestors.


Dasebre Dr Amankona Diawuo II was a doctor by profession and an active Church elder of the Church of Pentecost who serve the people of Berekum with calm and peaceful leadership who seek to maintain peace and unity after 17 years of chieftaincy dispute during his reign as the paramount chief of Berekum.



The announcement of his demise was welcomed by a host of chiefs and dignitaries from all walks of life including the Paramount Queen mother of Berekum, Nana Akosua Ameyaahene II, Acting President of the Traditional Council, Osaberima Yeboah Dartey, Representative of Asokori and Asokori Mampong Traditional Area, Chiraa Queen Mother Nana Yeboah Pene II, Political leaders including the Member of Parliament for Berekum East, Hon. Nelson Kyeremeh, MCE of Berekum East Hon. Kofi Adjei, DCE of Berekum West Hon. Dominic Oppong, both NPP and NDC Executive, the Clergy and other divisional and sub-chiefs was present to witness the sudden demise of the Paramount Chief of the Berekum Traditional Area. 

The traditional authorities upon the announcement conducted traditional observation rites to begin a state of mourning for the paramount chief of Berekum which the people of Berekum have called to ensure all other protocols are adhered to traditionally.


All other arrangements and plans are on course to maintain peace and order in the Municipality according to the police.

NSOATRE TRADITIONAL COUNCIL CONDEMNS THE VIOLENCE ACT THAT RESULTED THE DEATH OF KOTOKO SUPPORTER. The Nsoatre Traditional Council has condemns the uncouth behavour of some of the football fans that led to the untimely death of an ardent supporter of Kumasi Asante Football Club.  According to Nsuatre Traditional Council this  unfortunate behaviour happened on the stool land of Nsoatre which the council sees as unfortunate due to the cordial relationship between Nsoatreman and Asanteman which is dated back to 1740. THE SKY TRAIN SAGA—WIld Goose Chase. The Sky Train project which received considerable media coverage during Nana Akufo-Addo’s regime has resurfaced.
