OKA SECURITY PERSONNEL AND ODOMASEMAN IN DIASPORA ASSOCIATION LAUNCHED IN SUNYANI WEST MUNICIPAL.

A Fun Club made up of Security Personnel from Odomase, Kwatire and Adantia(OKA) in collaboration with citizens abroad has been launched in Odomase, the Sunyani- West Municipal Capital.

The program which was launched during the Easter festive season is dubbed 2023 Easter Homecoming.
The maiden edition drew people from all walks of life.

Aside from the security personnel and the citizens abroad, the colourful occasion saw dignitaries like Nanamom, Religious Leaders, and top Government Officials who graced the occasion.

To put the icing on the cake, the organisers invited an upcoming sensational goddess of music, Nana Adjoa Marfowaa Henrietta, known in the music industry as NAJA.

Activities for the program included Skills Training, Clean up Exercise, Health walk, Health Screening, and Football Gala among others.

Speaking at the occasion, the chairman of OKA, ACP Rtd.George Afari said the objective of the fun club is to unite and encourage the indigenes to contribute their quota for the development of the municipality, the region and the entire Ghana.

He further stated that they are aiming at supporting the youth who have an appetite for learning the trade and also to fight against criminalities as well as "sakawa" in collaboration with the Divisional police command in the municipality.

Mr M.K  Amoah, the President of Odomaseman citizens in the United States of America, briefed the gathering on the difficulties in travelling through the desert.

According to Mr Amoah, before getting to Libya, the travellers meet a lot of human traffickers who exploit them financially.

He again said many of the travellers who are not able to cope with the harsh condition of the desert die and are abandoned in the hot Saharan Desert some of which lean on the rocks as if they were sleeping and others buried in the dusty soil.

Finally, Mr Amoah urged the gathering to travel using the legal processes since that is the safest way of travelling.
He added that travelling as a legal migrant facilitates the traveller's work and residence permit.
