Lack Of Social Amenities Affecting Development; Chief Of Omenako Cry For Help.

The Chief Of Omenako had cried for developmental projects in the community since the lack of social amenities has been affecting their development.


Barima Kofi Bonsu ll speaking with Alrich24mewsgh.com news reporter Apelete Kofi-Michel, said Omenako is a farming community in the Suhum Municipality of the Eastern region with a population of over 1500 but lacks the requisite social amenities.


According to him, the lack of social amenities that can make their lives better like clinics, toilet facilities, schools and portable drinking water has become their big challenge.


He further accused past and present governments of neglecting them despite being part of Ghana.

He added that this government led by President Nana Akufo Addo built a medical Zipline centre in his community, but when is ready to commission Vice President Dr Bawumia and his leaders didn't inform him about it which is very painful. But he gave them the land before doing the project.


They promised him that, after the project, etc they'll buy ld new school block and Clinic for the community. But after everything they abandoned the Omenako Community.


He revealed that Omenako is a farming community which produces large quantities of maize, Cassava and others to feed the country but is deprived of better lives.


He therefocalleding on the government, the MP, Kwadwo Oboafo Asante and the MCE, Hon. Margaret Darko, to as a matter of urgency come to their aid and support these farming communities. He said.
