A businessman man of the opposition National Democratic Congress, Najid Nuhu Mumuni a.k.a Mayor has successfully filed his nomination to contest for the party’s parliamentary ticket in the Upper West Akim Constituency.


Presenting his nomination forms endorsed by various party officials in line with the constitutional requirements of the party, the parliamentary candidate hopeful reiterated his motivation for joining the race.


Alrich24newsgh.com news reporter Apelete Kofi-Michel, In an interview with Nuhu Mumuni a.k.a Mayor, said his bid is largely motivated by the potential, productivity and passion of the people of Upper West Akim among other things.


Skills, jobs, education, social and economic infrastructure, care of the vulnerable and aged, and support for our farmers and traders are the basic things that we must tackle.



To do all these, Upper West Akim deserves a Visionary, Result-Orientepeople-centredntered Leader to build a strong foundation.


I have said and I reiterate on the occasion of my filing that my vision for this bid is for the people, my people, the people of Upper West Akim, he said.


While emphasizing the importance of the upcoming election in the overall quest of bringing development to the constituency, the parliamentary candidate hopeful also stressed the need for the NDC to galvanize votes in the 2024 presidential election adding that in him, the party has the right person to not only win the seat but also help attract votes for the presidential race.


This election also importantly determines our party’s performance in the next elecWe aim is to increase their winning percentage ge in the 2024, general elections.


We need a youthful, credible, well-known, unifier, a mobilizer, someone who is accustomed to the mechanics of party mobilization and someone who has a track record of winning elections and performing in office.


I believe I have learnt, I have served and as one of your own, I have the goodwill and support to be the candidate whorepresentsresent this collective aim of ours.


I present this form in the name of every one of you in Upper West Akim. that in me, you have a reliable voice, he added.


After filling me with party supporters also shared their feelingthumbsthumps up with the Parliamentarhopingdate hopeful to win the contest.

BEREKUM TRADITIONAL COUNCIL ACCEPT EIGHT GAZETTED CHIEFS

EIGHT (8) CHIEFS OF BEREKUM TRADITIONAL AREA GAZETTED AS DIVISIONAL CHIEFS IN BEREKUM TRADITIONAL COUNCIL. A number of eight (8) Chiefs in the Berekum Traditional Area have performed their oaths of secrecy to be gazetted as the divisional chiefs of Berekum Traditional Council. The chiefs, numbering 8, got their titles as "Osaberima" to be added to their traditional and rulership names. A high court judge, Justice Baayeh, on the 6th day of November 2018, led the chiefs to sworn in the oaths of secrecy before a certificates of recognition was issued to the chiefs as a divisional chiefs. The gazetted 8 chiefs has been granted the opportunity and right to be part of any sittings of the traditional council and by so doing, all the 8 chiefs have been approved by the government of Ghana to be part of the judicial committee of the Berekum Traditional Council.
