Business Man Declares Intention to Contest Suhum Parliamentary Primaries Seat of NDC.

Business Man Declares Intention to Contest Suhum Parliamentary Primaries Seat of NDC.

A businessman who is a member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Otuo Kofi Adjei has declared his intention to contest for the Parliamentary primaries of the party when nominations are opened.

The popular youth activist in Suhum is affectionately called Free Down football club Owner a.k.a Yewonyame Oye and an experienced politician who has risen through the ranks of leadership.

Mr Otuo Kofi Adjei's vision to become a Member of Parliament is centred on four thematic areas, education, infrastructure, health and most importantly youth empowerment.

Suhum constituency is a stronghold of the ruling New Patriotic Party with an average 52% votes margin since 2000.

However, Otuo Kofi Adjei says, he is committed to breaking the NPP dominance in the constituency through an effective campaign message that will change the political mindset of the electorates to vote based on competence rather than political loyalty to stimulate development in the area.

He stated that Suhum Constituency has not seen any major development to improve the living standards of the people due to the incompetence and complacency of NPP MPs voted for over the past years.

Mr Otuo Kofi Adjei told Alrich24newsgh.com news reporter Apelete Kofi-Michel, this decision will either break or make our party. Over the last few years, we have been made to believe that for the past 20 years, the Suhum constituency parliamentary seat has been the safe seat of the new patriotic party but some of us, think that this is a figment of people’s imagination.

In his candid opinion, previous parliamentary candidates who contested on the ticket of the NDC did not show enough commitment to annex the seat from the NPP.

Over the last few years, our party has been submitting candidates that we believe have not shown interest in annexing the seat from the New Patriotic Party. I have come to submit myself to the critical scrutiny of all party members for you to elect me as your next parliamentary candidate and subsequently the Member of Parliament for Suhum Constituency from 2025.

He emphasized that he will not relent on his commitment to make Suhum Constituency an NDC seat if voted for in the primaries.

"My decision to contest this position is not borne out of the fact that I always want to occupy positions but I have made a decision to become a Member of Parliament and I shall contest until I become one", he reiterated.

He is a member of NDC in the Suhum constituency of the Eastern Region and is poised to stand with any other people who may contest him in the constituency primaries.

He, therefore, urged all Suhum NDC members to unite and work hard so that going forward into the election of 2024 they can win the Suhum seat for the NDC party. He said.

After Mr Otuo Kofi Adjei declare his intention to contest the Suhum seat for the NDC members, the party Chairman Mr Afasi Dzipha Richard also expressed his candid appreciation to Mr Otuo Kofi Adjei for his boldness to declare his intention to vie for the parliamentary elections.
