Afram Plains North, Dorkorkrom Presbyterian Hospital General Manager Cry Over Poor Roads.

The Dorkorkrom Presbyterian Hospital General Manager in the Afram Plains North of the Eastern Region Samuel Fianko Gyan has called on the government to fix their deplorable roads as it is negatively affecting their livelihoods.


According to the general manager of Dorkorkrom Presbyterian Hospital, the roads have been a major challenge to them over the years but nothing is being done about it.


He said the workers in Afram Plains North Constituency, teachers, nurses, doctors, drivers and others find it difficult before getting to their workplace due to the bad nature of their roads.


He added that the roads in the Afram Plains North were terrible and pregnant women either gave birth on the way before getting to the hospital or died on the way which is not helping the people.


He said due to the bad nature of the roads in the area when nurses or doctors are posted to the Dorkorkrom Presbyterian hospital, they refused to accept coming there to work and returned to where they came from.


He continues that the dusty road always has compelled them to change their work dresses when they come to work because of the bad roads


The General Manager of Dorkorkrom Presbyterian Hospital, Samuel Fianko Gyan pleaded with the government to help the assembly fix the road for the farmers in the area to enable them to transport their foodstuffs to the market centres for sale. He added.


The MP for Afram Plains North Constituency, Hon. Betty Krosbi Mensah also speaking with Alrich24newsgh.com news reporter Apelete Kofi-Michel, emphasised the challenges the people of Afram Plains North Constituency are going through due to the bad nature of roads. 



She said, the bad nature of roads in Afram Plains North has led to regular attacks on businesswomen by armed robbers and farmers also find it difficult to transport their foodstuffs to the market. 


She said, is doing everything possible to contact the roads minister Amoako Atta to award their roads to the contractor to finish the construction for the people in the area. She said.

A high court judge, Justice Baayeh, on the 6th day of November 2018, led the chiefs to sworn in the oaths of secrecy before a certificates of recognition was issued to the chiefs as a divisional chiefs. The gazetted 8 chiefs has been granted the opportunity and right to be part of any sittings of the traditional council and by so doing, all the 8 chiefs have been approved by the government of Ghana to be part of the judicial committee of the Berekum Traditional Council.
