Farmers of Govinakrom in the Ayensuano District of the Eastern Region, have pleaded with the government to help construct their road linking communities in the area to Teacher Mante to enable them transport their foodstuffs to the market centres.

The over 4km deplorable nature of the road makes it difficult for the farmers in the various communities such as Govinakrom, Domeabra, Amponsahene, Abodzi, Afatsawo, Dedewa Abrodiem and other neighboring communities to transport their farm produce by car to market centers and had to rely on motor bikes.

Speaking with Alrich24newsgh.com news Reporter Apelete Kofi-Michel, the situation get worse whenever it rains and it has affecting their sales out of their toil they make in their farms, because before they could transport the produce to the market it is late and market is about closing.

Hence are calling on government through the feeder roads department to intervene to get the feeder roads work on their roads for them to pave way for their deplorable roads fixed.

Barima Govina Kwakuvi ll, the Chief of Govinakrom on his part has expressed absolute worry over the situation, especially when pregnant women in labour had to be transported by motor to hospitals to deliver.

He has since been adding to the plea by the residents to Government to get the road fix for them since their communities produce a lot foodstuffs to feed the nation.
