Berekum West District Cheif Executive Visits 3 Envoys to Ghana For Developmental Partnership.
The District Chief Executive of Berekum West District in the Bono Region, Honourable Dominic Oppong on Monday 29th August, 2022 paid a courtesy call to a three (3) envoys to the country, namely, South Africa, Japan and Germany High Commissioners to seek for the developmental partnership and cooperation for the District.
The DCE in an attempt to develop the District cannot do it alone with the District Assembly Common fund hence together with his entourage visited 3 Ambassadors to Ghana to delibrate with them to support the District.
Honourable Dominic with his team first paid visit to the office of the Deputy South African High Commissioner to Ghana, His Excellency Thando Dalamba to have talks with him on their willingness to support and cushion work of farmers in the District to expand their farming activities with irrigational dams technologies as the District is mainly income generation is farming.
According to the Honourable Dominic Oppong, Berekum West District is a well endowed agricultural zone and with that can also boost of a tomatoes processing factory under one district one factory initiative by the government to process tomatoes farmers farm produce directly encouraging farming in the District.
The High Commissioner welcomed the DCE and gave an assurance that, they are going to look through their proposal submitted to be able to offer the right support for the District.
The next envoy to visit was the Japanese High Commissioner to Ghana, His Excellency Mochizuki Hisanobu as well as the First Secretary in charge of Development Cooperation Section at the Embassy, Katumura Akihisa was present to receive the delegation from Berekum West District.
Hon. Oppong presented his designed proposal of three thematic areas including Agriculture, Sanitation and Health for the assistance of the Embassy to help support the District to overcome sanitation, health and agriculture challenges face the District.
His Excellency Mochizuki Hisanobu also commended the DCE for his effort to reach them for developmental cooperation and partnership saying, the embassy through the Japan International Corporation Agency, a Japanese international organisation will consider the proposal and address the issues raised to support the people of Berekum West District.
The DCE last embassy to visit was the German Deputy Ambassador to Ghana, Her Excellency Ms Grace Jeanet Mason warmly welcomed Honourable Dominic Oppong to her office where the DCE draw the attention of the Ambassador why is it necessary to support the people of Berekum West which is mainly dominated by farmers.
The Deputy Ambassador also assured the DCE of the German agency,GIZ a development partnership agency will be fully ready to assess the proposed assistance to consider how best they can help the District overcome some of the challenges that needs to be assisted.
She said, though GIZ target is in the northern part of the Ghana, but once the DCE has submitted his well considered proposal to her office, she will consider looking into it to come out with a solution that will bring a relief to the people in the area.
The DCE, Honourable Dominic Oppong thanked the Ambassadors for their warmest reception and their readiness to support the developmental projects in the Berekum West District.
The DCE was accompanied by his District Planning Officer, Agric Director and DCE Communication's Officer Adanga Dominic.
