Dr. Mohammed Bashir Adam Commissions Community Mosque Complex at Suhum.

Dr. Mohammed Bashir Adam, the Country Representative of Muslim World League which is under United Nations has commissioned the Community Mosque in  Oforikrom Electral area at the Suhum Municipal of the Eastern Region.

At a short ceremony, some of the Chief Imams in Suhum Municipality applauded Dr. Mohammed Bashir Adam for his good work done, said they are very grateful for his support offered towards the construction of the Mosque Complex.

Alrich24newsgh.com reporter Apelete Kofi-Michel speaking with Dr. Mohammed Bashir Adam said, the minaret of this mosque is very visible from many parts of Suhum. For him, it is not just the beauty that adds to Suhum but the skyline that excites him necessarily.

I am even more excited by the fact that, as a Christian-majority country, a symbol of Islam can beautifully adorn our landscape, and expose the beauty of religious harmony that we enjoy in Suhum and which continues to be the envy of the rest of the world, the Dr. Mohammed said.

Acknowledging the importance of a mosque in the theological architecture of Islam, he noted that Prophet Mohammed’s Mosque in Madina continues to be a site of pilgrimage for devotees from across the world.

The mosque, Dr. Mohammed Adam  explained, is just a place of prayer, stressing that it is a hub for Muslims cultural activities.

In other words, a mosque is supposed to bring people together, and not divide them.

He, thus, urged the Chiefs Imams and members of the Muslim in Suhum to use the occasion of the commissioning of the Complex to foster even further the unity of the Muslim in Suhum Municipality, and by extension, the unity of the Ghanaian people.

He expected that, they should also nurture and take care of this mosque. He therefore advised the Muslim Youth in the country that, they should not allow themselves to use for violence. He added.

Some of the Chiefs Imams in Suhum Municipality speaking with our reporter Apelete Kofi-Michel, thanked Dr. Mohammed Bashir Adam for what he has done for them by building for them this beautiful Mosque for Oforikrom Electral area.
