Asufufu Chief Engage The People of Asufufu in Tree Planting Exercise.

ASUFUFU CHIEF ENGAGE THE PEOPLE OF ASUFUFU IN TREE PLANTING EXERCISE.

The Chief of Asufufu in the Sunyani East Municipality of the Bono Region, Nana Kumi Gyeabour II has lead the youth and people in the town in tree planting exercise in Asufufu community.


The tree planting exercise precisely took place alongside the banks of the Asufufu river to protect the river from further encroachment and safe for drinking among other reservations.

Afia Frema Bossman speaking in an interview with Nana Kwabena Kusi, the Nkosohene of Asufufu, on behalf of Asufufuhene after the tree planting exercise said, tree planting should be a concern to humanity because the issue of climate change is a real issue and the battle between humanity and nature concerns everyone hence we should plant trees to protect the environment to fight against the global warming.

According to Nana Kwabena Kusi, tree planting is a very vital aspect for the planet earth, because the trees protect our water bodies, provide us with oxygen to humankind and also give life to the wildlife, "as science has taught us," He said.


Nana continued that, trees has spiritual cannotations and that human beings should be careful of how we treat trees and avoid illegal cutting down of trees especially in Ghana to protect our forests reserves.


Nana Kwabena Kusi on his part thanked the people for supporting the call to plant trees in the town and also advised the communities to emulate the practice of tree planting all the time especially during the raining seasons ti help the trees to grow fast.
