The Ghanaian professional football player of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Football Club, Stephen Amankona has been honored in his home town Jinijini in the Berekum West District capital of the Bono Region.
The player was highly welcomed to the town by the Chief of Jinijini, Nana Tutu Baffour Asare II, supporters of Asante Kotoko FC, political leaders, Concern Citizens of Jinijini, and other dignitaries.
Jinijini Hene who Organized the event emphasized the need for the indigenous to support their hero to achieve a higher height in his career.
The event was full of fun to honor their industrious son Stephen Amankona as the chief charge on the youth in the town to emulate what Stephen Amankona has done in his football career.
At the ceremony was the Bono Regional New Patriotic Party (NPP) Women's Organizer, Madam Doris Asomah together with the Berekum West Constituency Executives Chairman, Peter Asomah Boampong was in attendance to support the hero's welcome of Stephen Amankona of Kumasi Asante Kotoko F.C.
Madam Doris Asomah on her part donated Gh¢1,000.00 to support the player Stephen Amankona.
Madam Doris Asomah on her advice urged the upcoming young stars to emulate the playmaker Stephen Amankona to help get more great footballers in the community and the District at large.
The player Stephen Amankona on his part commended the chief of Jinijini Nana Tutu Baffour Asare II for the honor donehonorm and thanked everyone who made the occasion a success. He, therefore, made a promise not to let the community he comes from down but will keep on working hard to sell the image he has gained as a professional player.
