Berekum Senior High School Headmaster Calls For Infrastructural Support from Berekum Citizens. 

Affi Yaw Stephen the headmaster of Berekum Senior High School (BESS) in the Berekum East Municipality of the Bono Region has called on the people of Berekum to arise and support the school to build on it's less infrastructure. 


He said, the school is faced with a lot of challenges including teachers accommodation, transportation pickup, fence wall, assembly hall among other facilities.


According to him because of the lack of teachers accommodation, most of the teachers are residing outside the campus, the security of the students are at stake hence called on people to support the school to build teachers bungalow to accommodate the teachers in the school.


He again added that, the fence wall around the school since is not totally fenced has paved way for animals such as cows, sheep etc to break through the school's compound to destroy things there and this is hampering the security of the teaching staff, students and workers. 


He mentioned that, another challenge the students are facing is that, when it comes to their gatherings for events, the school do not have an assembly hall for bigger meetings they only resort to their only dinning hall which cannot also accommodate the increasing number of students in the school when it comes to events, hence the school plans to construct 500 capacity auditorium for students. 


The headmaster therefore has created the indulgences of the Berekum citizens to appealed to them to construct individually a teachers bungalow and if a person can do can named it after him or herself to boost others to emulate it in the school. He said, the management has decided to build the teachers bungalows along the walls of the school to secure a total protection for the students in the school and to also helped instill discipline among the students. 


Mr. Affi Yaw Stephen finally urged the old students to also as matter of urgency to come to the aid of their alma mater both in financial and material support because they are planning to construct a 12 unit classroom block for the school.

25-Year-Old Young Man Electrocuted in Berekum . A suspected thief by the name Oboshie in his 25 years has been electrocuted at Berekum Nyamebekyere in the Berekum East Municipal of the Bono region . According to eye-witnesses, the suspected thief's lifeless body was found on the food vendor metal container as he attempted to steal from the container of the vendor who operates in a metal container. BEREKUM TRADITIONAL COUNCIL ACCEPT EIGHT GAZETTED CHIEFS

EIGHT (8) CHIEFS OF BEREKUM TRADITIONAL AREA GAZETTED AS DIVISIONAL CHIEFS IN BEREKUM TRADITIONAL COUNCIL. A number of eight (8) Chiefs in the Berekum Traditional Area have performed their oaths of secrecy to be gazetted as the divisional chiefs of Berekum Traditional Council. The chiefs, numbering 8, got their titles as "Osaberima" to be added to their traditional and rulership names. A high court judge, Justice Baayeh, on the 6th day of November 2018, led the chiefs to sworn in the oaths of secrecy before a certificates of recognition was issued to the chiefs as a divisional chiefs. The gazetted 8 chiefs has been granted the opportunity and right to be part of any sittings of the traditional council and by so doing, all the 8 chiefs have been approved by the government of Ghana to be part of the judicial committee of the Berekum Traditional Council.
