A SWARM OF BEES TAKES OVER A WEEKLY FRIDAY MARKET AT JINIJINI.
Wonders they say shall never end as the saying goes was what happened on Friday 29th October, 2021 at Jinjini as a swarm of bees invaded the weekly market day, the District Capital of Berekum West in the Bono Region.
Alrich24newsgh.com speaking to an eye witness explained that the market started very well during the day but not until they saw a company of bees taking over the goods of a trader, preventing her and other traders from selling at the time the bees were hanging on the umbrella of the materials seller.
According to the trader who the bees took over her clothings said, she saw the bees taking over her items whiles she was selling them and apparently they invaded her materials and took control of her table, an umbrella and the place she was selling.
The District Environmental Health Officer Mrs Madina, was contacted for assistance to drive off the animals but said fumigating them was the best way but could affect the traders at the peak of the market day since the substance is very poisonous for the goods and items which could caused harm to the traders hence another method was introduced by the traders to drive the bees.
The traders later resorted to an insecticide spray which was able to dispersed the bees from the market to paved way for the business to continue till the market came to a close later in the day.
The Assembly Members together with the traditional authorities were informed about the situation but they agreed to find out the cause of the bees invading the market during a weekly market day activities.
But according to a whistleblower, the bees came there with a purpose whether to come and bless the trader or to do any other thing but said it still needs to be investigated.
The Jinijini market day comes on every Friday, the only weekly market day in the District which host traders from various communities to the market today encountered a swarm of bees invasion whiles trading.
