Queen mother of Asuakwaa celebrates 20th anniversary in a grand style.

ASUAKWAA QUEEN MOTHER CELEBRATES 20TH ANNIVERSARY TO RAISE FUNDS TO SUPPORT EDUCATION.  


The queen mother of Chiraa-Asuakwaa in the Sunyani West Municipal of the Bono Region, Nana Akosua Bema II has celebrated her 20th anniversary of her enstoolment to the Asuakwaa throne.


Nana Akosua Bema in her speech thanked God Almighty, the chiefs and people of the town for their support through all these years for a peaceful reign. She took the occasion to solicit for funds to reconstruct the death trap SDA primary school block in the town which has trained a lot of well known people of Asuakwaa.

She emphasised on most of the progress they have achieved over the years, saying that, the Asuakwaa town has seen a progress in upgrade of electricity, tiled road, clinic during a time the people were attending Chiraa hospital for treatment. She said the former MP, Hon. Kwabena Adjei Darko, Rev. Dr. Asante Mensah, Hon. Baffour Awuah the MP of the Sunyani West and among others have been a great help to the town.


She therefore called for unity among the people as elections are drawing close to live in harmony to fight for the common good of Asuakwaa for more development which she plead on the citizens to always support the town.  


The occasion was also used to launched the Asuakwaa Youth Association to bring together the youth in the town together to monitor the activities of the youth in order to prevent their involvement in drug abuse, teenage pregnancy and other social vices to enable them promote the good image of the town.


The Vice Chairman of the Association, Mr. Puis Asante also shared the purpose of forming the association and entreated the youth to work hard to project the good image of Asuakwaa.


Amongst the natives who graced the occasion includes the Chief of Asuakwaa Nana Kwasi Yeboah, Techiman Nifahene, Nana Fentemfrem Atekyekesie, the former Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church Ghana, Rev. Dr. Dr. Aboagye Mensah, Mr. Yaw Bennet the CEO of Ghana Passport Office, the Clergy, the Wife of Benard Oduro Takye aka BOT an Independent Parliamentary Candidate of Sunyani West and many others.

NSOATRE TRADITIONAL COUNCIL CONDEMNS THE VIOLENCE ACT THAT RESULTED THE DEATH OF KOTOKO SUPPORTER. The Nsoatre Traditional Council has condemns the uncouth behavour of some of the football fans that led to the untimely death of an ardent supporter of Kumasi Asante Football Club.  According to Nsuatre Traditional Council this  unfortunate behaviour happened on the stool land of Nsoatre which the council sees as unfortunate due to the cordial relationship between Nsoatreman and Asanteman which is dated back to 1740.
