MOBILE MONEY THEFT AT BEREKUM THURSDAY MARKET.
A young man believed to be in his mid twenty's was caught and beaten severely after stealing money and two mobile phones from a mobile money vendor at the Berekum Thursday market in the Berekum East Municipalities of the Bono Region.
The young man was mobbed by a section of the public but for the timely intervention of the Berekum police patrol team he was rescued.
Narrating the situation to Alrich24newsgh.com, the Mobile Money vendor explained that he was to cash out Ghc500.00 to a customer when the two young men entered his shop and took away the money and his two mobile phones he was operating with. He chased them for his items of which one pulled a knife and eventually gave out the two phones.
According to the eye witnesses, the vendor was seen struggling to take back his items so they assisted to stop one of them and beat him till the police arrived.
The police therefore took the young man to the hospital for treatment later he will be charged of his offenses.
