POLICE OFFICER ASSAULTED BY COLLEAGUES IN BEREKUM

A Police officer with the Berekum Command in the Bono Region, Sgt. Yaw Apau has been assaulted by his colleague officers in Berekum.

Explaining the unforeseen incident, Sgt. Apau could not point out what ignited the brutality but perceived it could be on personal grounds. He said there has been a relationship matters that has ensued between him and one of the officers which he believes led to his assault but that is not the right way to deal with a police officer even if something has gone wrong.

According to him, he was detained at police cells yesterday from 10:00pm till today Saturday 7:00am.

Sgt. Yaw Apau is therefore calling for justice as some of the officers are found of maltreating their colleagues in the Berekum police division.
He does not want to take the law into his own hands but believes justice will prevail on his behalf.

Some cell mates who witnessed the physical attack and fight on the police officer describe how blood was all over his body before he was put into cell after the the beatings.
