BEREKUM EAST NPP DELEGATES URGED TO MAINTAIN DR. TWUM-NUAMAH
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has scheduled 20th June, 2020 for the party's parliamentary primary elections across the nation. The Berekum East Constituency delegates are to elect one among the three(3) other aspiring candidates - Mr. Paul Ofori-Amanfo, Mr. Solomon Kyere-Boadu and Mr. Nelson Kyeremeh contesting with Dr. Kwabena Twum-Nuamah who has been tipped to be maintained.
A research conducted by Alrich24newsgh.com has it that, some people in Berekum want the incumbent MP maintained. They believe that expectations of the MP are great and will soon materalized to bring greater transformation in Berekum as all the projects he is delivering will soon be enjoyed by the people of Berekum than to change him.
Speaking to some of the funding fathers in Berekum, they advised the delegates to support the MP by voting for him massively to continue the works he has started so that it will not chalk to retrogressed the towns development.
The research has revealed some of the project the incumbent MP has excuted in the two terms of office.
Amongst the projects are and not limited to what the MP has undertaken includes some of them we have monitored:
Dr. Kwabena Twum-Nuamah has undertaken the following in the health sector in Berekum.
(a). Purchase of brand new incubator to the Holy Family Hospital.
(b). Undertake free health screening to screen over 3000 people to help monitor the health status of the people of Berekum through which Norwegians Doctors were present during this exercise.
(c). Equipping and furnishing of the Kyereyawkrom CHP's compound to help the people in the community.
(d). The MP has rehabilitated the Namasua Clinic.
(e). He has renovated Berekum Municipal Health Directorate Administration Block.
(f). Renewal of Health insurance Registration for over 1,675 people in the Constituency.
(g). He has arranged for the expansion of Zongo Clinic by paying the full cost of the demolition of the adjoining building to the clinic and site clear for the expansion works.
(f). Site for the construction of Kato Health Center cleared to begun construction.
(g). Supported the Covid 19 fight with over 500 veronica buckets, sanitizers and tissues.
(h). Donated Ghc15,000.00 to the Berekum Municipal Health Directorate to fight Covid 19 in Berekum.
(a). The MP initiated the Construction of Boys Dormatory at Berekum SHS completed.
(b). Construction of 6 unit classroom block at BESS to support free SHS policy completed.
(c). Construction of 6 unit classroom block at Berekum PRESEC completed.
(d). Construction of 6 unit classroom block at the Yiadom Boakye Demonstration C JHS with furniture completed.
(e). Mpatasei M/A Basic School KG1 block with kitchen washroom completed.
(f). Assisted the construction of Berekum College of Education tarred roads and other structures.
(g). Organization of free vacation classes for SHS and JHS students during vacations.
(h). He also paid for 152 students school fees in 2017.
(i). Supported school feeding program with the amount of Ghc2000.00.
(j). Purchase of Executive furniture abd Repair of Berekum Municipal Education Directorate office broken down vehicle.
(k). Sponsored annual independence inter school quiz competition with 2 computers and 4 laptops.
(l). Purchase of 3 trophies 10 footballs for the municipal education inter circuit football competition.
(m). Supported the increase of school feeding program from 16 schools to 29 schools in the municipality.
3. SECURITY
(a). Purchase of 4 brand new tyres for Berekum police petrol vehicle.
(b). Renovation of Berekum police charge office completed.
(c). Lobbied for extra police vehicle for Berekum police from the government.
4. SECONDARY CITY PROJECT AT THURSDAY MARKET.
(a). Dr. Kwabena Twum-Nuamah again supported in lobbying for the selection of the secondary city project among the 4 districts in the Bono Ahafo Region which Berekum East Municipal Assembly was selected for the construction of Thursday market which will include construction of roads in the market, walkways, drains and 30Km culvets, provision of police station, clinic and créche Center for the traders funded by World Bank from 2019 to 2023.
MINISTRY OF TRADE AND INDUSTRY.
(a). Lobbied for the construction of Business Exhibition Complex under the Ministry of Trade and Industry for generation of jobs for the youth in Berekum which Berekum was selected among 25 districts.
(a). Distributed and installed 300 LED street lights in the constituency.
(b). Supported Grico Sub-station electricity construction to serve the people of Berekum, Dormaa Ahenkro, Nkrankwanta, Sampa and Drobo completed.
(c). Extension of Electricity to Kyereyawkrom and Oforikrom.
(d). Installation of street lights to Senase market and it's surroundings.
ROADS CONSTRUCTION.
(a). Completed 3Km link road of Berekum - Mpatapo road to Kutre No 1
with drains.
(b). Secured a Sino hydro 14Km road project for the Berekum town roads construction by Chinese Construction firm Xangi Shinxi Co. Ltd. which will commence soon.
With these assessment by the well meaning Berekum people, the suggestions are that if the incumbent MP is allowed to continue the good works, Berekum will be seen with it's development.
They therefore has advised the delegates never to try to change hands but to vote and maintain Dr. Kwabena Twum-Nuamah during the upcoming constituency parliamentary polls on 20th June, 2020.
Per their analysis, Dr. Kwabena Twum-Nuamah the incumbent candidate has been the choice of the Berekum people. Even some Parliamenterians like Majority Leader in Parliament, Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu of the Suame Constituency and Hon. Collins Dawuda, the MP of Asunafo South has all called on the Berekum East NPP delegates to maintain their MP, Dr. Kwabena Twum-Nuamah.
