Covid 19 fight: Bono, Ahafo and Bono East radio stations to end Covid 19 campaigns over selective media.

MEDIA STATIONS IN BONO, AHAFO AND BONO EAST REGIONS RESPECTIVELY BOYCOTTS COVID 19 CAMPAIGNS OVER SELECTIVE MEDIA.

Information reaching Alrich24newsgh.com news desk has not been a pleasant one comparatively,  because unfortunately the most seen favorable quote "Together we stand divided we fall" is hitting the hard rocks in these abnormal times. This key message is preached by the World Health Organization, Ministry of Health, Ghana Health Service, amongst other stakeholders in the Covid 19 fight.

As commonly declared by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo "we are not in normal times", this is not the time for self glorifications and appraisals. This is the time to collate positive efforts and put all hands on deck to fight the virus.

Bono East, Ahafo and Savanna regions remain zero Covid-19 case with Bono recording an imported case. The pandemic has thrown more lights on the hard work and efforts of health workers worldwide. Their selflessness has reflected in these regions.

The media being a major tool in fighting the common enemy is set to stop it's campaigns in the support of Covid 19 fight over a comment made by a presenter on a radio. The conversation has always been about covid-19 ever since its outbreak.
Radio stations, television stations, online portals, information centres and other media has been instrumental in this fight. Their daily updates, education and discussion on covid-19 has helped a lot in this times of pandemic. Some stations have created covid-19 specific programs on their network to support the fight against the disease.

Although alrich24news.com can say unequivocally that the media houses have done their best in these abnormal times.

It is therefore disheartening to hear a media house claim self glorification out of what all the stations has contributed. A radio presenter was heard on morning a show on Friday 22nd May 2020, saying his outfit amongst other two (2) radio stations in the region have the sole right to discuss covid-19 other than the rest of the stations in the Bono, Ahafo and Bono East Regions respectively.

According to him, only three (3) stations has been permitted to educate the public on covid-19 in all these regions. This announcement has provoked the wrath of the rest of some media stations to vowed not do anything with Covid 19 campaigns in these 3 regions.

Reports reaching us has it that managements of some media house are taking steps to end all covid-19 related issues on their platforms. Others are in awe since the news reached them and making calls to the various health directorate, information service, NCCE and covid-19 response committee in the various districts to verify if only 3 stations have been selected for Bono, Ahafo and Bono East Regions respectively to undertake Covid 19 campaigns.
