Nana Addai Yeboah, leader of the traders told Alrich24newsgh.com that they are grateful to President Nana Akufo Addo for considering the women in Berekum to build them a market under the one million per constituency initiative.
She said authorities at the Assembly have planned to divert the One million per Constituency market project to a public partnership for 23 years. She claimed that the current project which is ongoing is being sponsored by the Ministry of Special Initiative is halted because of the PPP and contractor has trip sand to the land to start building stores on the same piece of land under construction.
Nana Addai therefore called on President Nana Akufo Addo to intervene since the women cannot afford any amount of money to rent a store if the PPP is allowed to continue. She cautioned that these issues is gradually making the government unpopular in Berekum.
Some of the traders at the market also lamented that the MP is putting in much efforts to build the market but authorities at the Municipal Assembly wants to divert the project which is to be soon completed and handed over to them. They called for cancelation of the PPP contract at the one million per constituency project is going on.
