Covid 19: Berekum Circuit Court discharged 10 Togolese Nationals of testing positive of Covid 19 as the court closes down for disinfections to be done.

The ten accused Togolese have been discharge by the Berekum Circuit Court who were remanded for an unlawful entery in to the country.

The Berekum circuit court has been closed down for disinfections, since one of the accused persons have been tested positive of Covid19.  

The National Security, the Police in Berekum in collaboration with the Bono Regional Minister has called for the case to be withdrawn from court so that the patient can be treated and contact tracing be done. 

The presiding Judge, His Honour Osei Kofi Amoako has therefore discharged the 10 accused expatriates because of one person contracting the novel Corona virus.

According to information gathered by Alrich25newsgh.com,National Security is deliberating therefore to expel these 10 foreign nationals of Togo back to their country.

It will be recalled that, Berekum Circuit Court was where these Togolese nationals were tried on for the first time on 29th April, 2020. Since one of the accused testing positive of the Corona  virus, the samples of the workers at the court have been taken for investigations including the Sampa Police personals who had close contacts with them.

The court, meanwhile have close for an disinfection exercise be done before  proceedings will resume.

According to our sources the infected person was tried to sneak into the country through Sampa boarder where he was arrested by the security agencies. The patient was then tested for the virus and the result came out positive.

The patient is currently in an isolation centre in the Jama North District where he is being treated.

Ghana has so far recorded 3,091 confirmed cases of Coronavirus patients. 303 patients have fully recovered from the virus.

The country has also recorded 18 deaths.

BEREKUM CIRCUIT COURT REMANDS 10 TOGOLESE NATIONALS

The Berekum Circuit Court has today Thursday 30th April, 2020 remanded 10 Togolese Nationals for entering Ghana illegally.
His Honour Osei Kofi Amoako who presided over the court remanded them for 14 days. The Togolese nationals are to be isolated and tested for covid-19 before they reappear before his court on May 14, 2020.

Among the 10 people who have been arrested 8 of them is male and 2 female to reapear court on 14 of May, 2020.

According to the prosecutor -  Chief Kwakye Brobbey, the 8 males and 2 females were from Jake in Cote d'Ivoire passed through Sampa in the Bono Region and to Tatale of the Northern Region to continue their journey to Togo.
They were arrested by Ghana Immigration Service at Sampa on 27th April, 2020 at Sampa but managed to escape the arrest but were rearrested at Wenchi.
