Covid 19: Berekumman Citizens Association screening people with gun thermometer in Berekum to fight the spread of Corona virus.

BEREKUMMAN CITIZENS ASSOCIATION DONATES ITEMS TO HEALTH FACILITIES IN BEREKUM AS THEY LACKS PPE TO CURB COVID-19.

After the donations by the association to four health institutions in Berekum, the association has continued as a measures to reduce the spread of Corona virus has took to the streets, stations and market places to screen people with an infrared thermometers popularly called gun thermometer to check the temperatures of the citizens in Berekum. The head of the health committee of the association, Dr. Henry Amankwa said this one also is the association means to monitor and check the temperatures of people to give them advises concerning their health status as we are all fighting to curb the spread of the corona virus.

A personal of health professionals have been charged to undertake this exercise to promote in the education and campaign of Covid 19 in order to avoid the spread of Corona virus in Berekum and it's environs. Contact or social distancing, washing of hands under running water with soap and application of hands sanitizers was a major campaign message by the health personal employed by the association. 

Berekumman Citizens Association on 26th March 2020, supplied health materials to four health facilities in Berekum to support the fight against Corona virus spread in the town.

The items includes Veronica buckets with taps, 4 infrared thermometers, sanitizers, and tissues costing the association Ghc10,000.00.
Speaking to Alrich24newsgh.com, Professor Obeng Ofori the interim chairman of Berekum Chapter said, the need has come for the association to also extend their help to combat the Corona virus.

Adding that the association will continue to contribute their quote to prevent the spread of the virus in Berekum and Ghana at large.
The Health Committee Chairman of the Association, Dr. Henry Akwasi Amankwa explained that the items will augment the preventive measures of hands washing thus why they have provided the Veronica buckets to fight the deadly corona virus which is claiming lives around the world.

Receiving the items on behalf of the four institutions that's, Holy Family Hospital, Jinijini Health Center, Zongo Clinic and Happy Hospital, was the nursing administrator of Holy Family Hospital, Rev. Sister Judith Beatrice Adunti. She thanked the association for the timely intervention which will help protect their staffs from contracting Covid-19.
Saying as Oliver Twist, she asked for more "this is not enough as we will need more personal protective equipments, PPE, like hand gloves, nose masks and others to fight Covid 19 in Berekum and it's environs to be able to maintain high standard of hygiene".

Representatives from the various facilities thanked the association for their donation and requested for more from other groups to also emulate what Berekumman Citizens Association has done.

Sunyani East, Kotokrom-New Dormaa Tarred Road Gets Second Seal. The ongoing construction of the major road of the New Dormaa-Kotokrom road in the Sunyani Municipality of the Bono Region which was recently primer sealed for the final seal started today Saturday 16th March. 2024 to complete the one-sided of the road.
