Covid 19, 40 Metropolis, Municipalities and Districts has lock down in Ghana for two weeks by the President Nana Akufo Addo

Covid 19, President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo lock down 40 Metropolis, Municipalities and Districts in Ghana.

The President of Ghana, HE, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo in wake to prevent the spread of Corona virus pandemic in Ghana has lock down 40 metroplises, municipalities and districts in Ghana.

The residents in these areas are going to stay at home for the next two weeks from the next 40 hours on 30th March, 2020. No intercepting movement of vehicles and aircraft for private or commercial purposes for these areas of restrictive measures will be allowed.

The president announcing this on Friday evening exempted vehicles and aircraft providing essential services and those carrying cargos. Riders of motor bikes will not be allowed to carry any additional person and all inter city passenger vehicles such as trotro and taxi are to reduce the number of passengers in order to observe the appropriate social distancing and hygiene protocols.

The affected 40 metropolitan and municipalities to be lock down which has been identified by the Ghana health services as the hot spot of infections according to the President includes Accra Metropolis, Tema Metropolise, Tema Wast Municipality, Ledzokuku, Krowor, Adenta, Ashiaman, La Nkwantanang-Madina, La Dede-kotopon, Okaikwei North, Ablekuma North, West and Central, Ayawasi East, North, West and Central, Ga West, North, Central, South, and East, Koleklote, Weija Gbawe, Kpong Katamanso and Awutu Senya East Municipalities respectively.

In the Ahanti region, the Kumasi Metropolis will affected, Asokwa, Suame, Old Tafo, Oforikrom, Asokori Mampong, Kwadaso, Atwima Nwabiagya, Kwabre East, Ejusu Municipalities respectively and Afgya Kwabre South District, Bosomtwi, Atwima Kwanwoma, and Atwima Nwabiagya North Districts respectively are to observed the lock down for the next two weeks.

His Excellency  Nana Akufo Addo urged Ghanaians to observed all the protocols as measures to mitigate the impact of Corona virus. Corona virus alleviation program will soon roll out by the minister of finance, a minimum of Ghc1 billion to be provided to support household and businesses particularly the small scale and medium scale enterprises. 

The President in announcing this measures said the affected areas are to be reminded everyday that the front line of fighting this Corona virus is your front door and if you cross it, you and your family will likely be affected so we should stay at home.

The President therefore offered his next three months salary from April to June into the fight of the virus He thanked the churches and organizations supporting the fight of this Corona virus. May God bless us All.
