METHODIST PRESIDING BISHOP URGE STUDENTS TO BE DISCIPLINE
The Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church Ghana, Most Rev. Dr. Paul Boafo on his tour to the Wenchi Diocese also visited some churches and schools in the Bono Region.
The Bishop's tour took him to Bechem in the Ahafo Region, Sunyani, Berekum and Dormaa Ahenkro of the Bono Region to speak with church leaders across all circuits and strengthen them to keep the faith in the work of God.
Most Rev. Dr. Paul Boafo met the staff and students of Berekum Methodist Senior High and Technical School (MESTEC) to familiarized himself with the happenings at the school.
Speaking with the students, he said the Methodist Church has instituted a lot of educational policies and systems to benefit the youth and once they are in a Methodist school, they should keep on shining with the systematic training they are receiving from the school.
He urged the students to embrace all that their teachers are giving them by being discipline to add value to their respective lives.
He advised the students to let the school pass through them and participate in chaplaincy activities such as morning and evening devotional, Sunday services and all activities related to the scriptures should be taken seriously because that is the trump card of the church. He said priority should be given to such activities to reform the hearts of the students.
The Headmaster of the School, Mr. Enoch Mensah Fabri also recounted some of the challenges facing the school which includes accommodation for teachers and a school bus for transportation activities.
He therefore appealed to the Presiding Bishop for a construction of a Methodist University Campus to be attached to the school because there is a vast land that has been handed over to the school by the traditional authorities of Biadan where the school is situated in Berekum.
The Presiding Bishop took the occasion to dedicate a brand new sets of musical instruments bought by the School Representative Council SRC to God and bless it and encouraged the SRC to keep up the spirit of supporting their school.
