Berekum East MP embarks on free health screening of over 1000 of his constituents.

BEREKUM EAST MP EMBARKS ON FREE HEALTH SCREENING.

The incumbent MP of Berekum East Constituency of the Bono Region, Hon. Dr. Kwabena Twum Nuamah has undertaken a free medical outreach screening for his constituents.

The Chairman of parliamentary select committee on health in collaboration with a team of experts from UK through Places Ghana Foundation, a non-governmental organization and Holy Family Hospital, screened patrons of all kinds of health complications such as mental, dental, eye, breast cancer, blood donation, voluntary HIV counselling and testing, dietary education, biomedical inspection and physical examination including vitals and BP checks.
The aged and the middle age group turned out in their numbers to be screened by the medical experts.
Some of the participants found of major health cases were treated freely by the doctors and medications were provided. Free medication was given as others received professional counseling from the team.

The MP, Dr. Kwabena Twum Nuamah who organized and sponsored the program said the health of his people cannot be compromised therefore he saw the need to reach out to them in this way to offer free health screening to them to enable them to have free access to the medical team.

Adding that this was long overdue but due to time constraints it couldn't come on as he planned last year and now it has come into reality. He explained that he is even shock to see majority of Berekum people turning out to be screened and said he is impressed with the patronage of the people.
He emphasized that this is not going to be a nine day but stressed Berekum East people will from time to time will experience such kind of health screening to enable them to always access their health status. 

The leader of the team from UK also added that, the health of people should be taken seriously and what the MP has initiated will go a long way to save lives and people who couldn't even afford to pay the cost of their hospital bills. Saying the team have love the people of Berekum for turning out to be screened and the kind of collaboration that exist between them and the MP will not be only this year but will keep on coming to Berekum for such an outreach programs like this.
Some of the participants also expressed their appreciation to the MP, Dr. Kwabena Twum Nuamah for such an initiative to help alleviate some of the health conditions most people were going through and have see been treated.
They called for more of such moves should be done by their legislature to improve the health of the people.

The Omanhene of Berekum Traditional Area in the Berekum Municipal of the Bono Region Dasebre Dr Amankona Diawuo II has passed on. The announcement of the demise of the Berekum Traditional leader was done today Friday 9th June 2023 by the chief spiritualist of Berekum Nana Komfo Kofi who was asked to take care of the health of the paramount chief but on his announcement, the paramount chief could not make it but joined his ancestors. Dasebre Dr Amankona Diawuo II was a doctor by profession and an active Church elder of the Church of Pentecost who serve the people of Berekum with calm and peaceful leadership who seek to maintain peace and unity after 17 years of chieftaincy dispute during his reign as the paramount chief of Berekum.
