Berekum drivers laments, saying Npp Authorities in the town are sleeping and relax for development

BEREKUM NPP HEADS ARE SLEEPING AND RELAX ON DEVELOPMENT.

The people of Berekum Municipality and Berekum West District in the Bono Region who have been voting for the NPP for the past 20 years are now throwing back at the NPP party executives and their leaders over lack of development.

According to some of the citizens, the party's government appointees in Berekum are sleeping on their jobs and nothing is moving in Berekum. They claim they have been faithful to the party over the years but have nothing substantial to boost of.

Some of the major agittations talked about are the deplorable state of roads across Berekum from north to south, east to west.
None of the communities can take pride in their road network. From Sofo Kyere road, Kyiribaa, Koraso, Brenyekwa, Hospital road, Ayimom, Adom to Abisase road, Amankokwaa, Thursday Market streets, Mpatasie road, etc.
Others complained of insecurity, poor sanitation, infrastructure gab, poor telecommunications network and many more.

Speaking to Alrich24newsgh.com they claim worsening the issue was the tour the President had in the Region recently, which because of lack of cooperation and development, he couldn't stop in the town to commission a single project or even cut sod for the commencement of a project.

Berekum has two Parliamentarians, Municipal and District Chief Executives for Berekum East and West leading a population of about 64,246 people.

The expectations of the people were very high after the government announced that the town have been captured in the Sino Hydro project which is to construct the inner city roads yet nothing has happened after two years of the announcement.

The just ended meet the press series that was held by the two Assemblies revealed projects such as the construction of classroom blocks, bore holes, planting for food and jobs, Nabco, and others but the people clearly explained that the projects are not visible, asking again where is the common fund and the IGF projects are?

Some have expressed their displeasure especially the drivers are planning to stop paying their income tax to support the assembly. They are asking where is the roads they were promised are and if nothing is done about it they will not even vote again in Berekum.
