Berekum East Assembly Disburses Ghc49,000.00 Worth of Items To People with Disabilities


B.E.M.A DISBURSE ITEMS TO PERSONS WITH DISABILITY.

The Berekum East Municipal Assembly in the Bono Region has disbursed items worth about Ghc49,000.00 to 32 people with disability in the municipality.

Presenting the items to the beneficiaries,  the MCE of the Assembly, Hon. Kofi Adjei explained that it is government's initiative to support the physically challenged in the society by providing items that will better their living.

He emphasized that the stated amount form part of the 3% of the Assembly's common fund meant for the physically challenged in the society and this is the second time in the year that they are being supported with such a relieve items.

The MCE admonished them to make good use of the items received. Some of the items received includes, 4 decker fridges, sawing and neating machines, 3 packets of roofing sheets and nails, 2 brand new laptops, 3 table top fridges, wheel chair, start up trading materials, goats for rearing amongst other.

Mr Adu Gyamfi one of the beneficiaries who received a brand new latop stated that, with his  blindness, he teaches at  Berekum Presec, and that, the latop will help him program all his lessons before teaching and it will make teaching easy for him.

He then advised his fellow disabled persons to stop begging on the streets since they can do a lot only if they will believe in themselves. He encouraged the other beneficiaries to make good use of the items.

He, on behalf of the beneficiaries thanked the government for her prompt support towards the welfare of persons with disabilities in the country.

NSOATRE TRADITIONAL COUNCIL CONDEMNS THE VIOLENCE ACT THAT RESULTED THE DEATH OF KOTOKO SUPPORTER. The Nsoatre Traditional Council has condemns the uncouth behavour of some of the football fans that led to the untimely death of an ardent supporter of Kumasi Asante Football Club.  According to Nsuatre Traditional Council this  unfortunate behaviour happened on the stool land of Nsoatre which the council sees as unfortunate due to the cordial relationship between Nsoatreman and Asanteman which is dated back to 1740.
