BEREKUM OMANHEMAA FINALLY SECURES DVLA OFFICE FOR BEREKUM DRIVERS.
The Omanhemaa of Berekum Traditional Area in the Bono Region, Nana Akosua Ameyaahene III, has paid a visit to the Drivers and the various Drivers Unions at the Berekum Main Station to interact with them about their business activities at the station.
Nana Akosua Ameyaahene III expressed her appreciation for their hard work at the station by the drivers and the various Unions. She said , her visit to station is to abreast herself with the work they are doing and to encourage them to do more.
The Omanhemaa took the opportunity to announce to the drivers about her efforts to secure the office for the operations of Driver and Vehicle Linsencing Authority (DVLA) in Berekum for the first time, to enable the drivers to acquire their Licenses and to process their cars documentations in Berekum instead of travelling to Sunyani for such services.
She called on the drivers Unions to support her to renovate and furnish the old Berekum Assembly block to be used as the DVLA office. She , therefore , asked them to help her to complete the renovation works of the building.
Nanahemaa again advised the drivers to avoid wrong over-taking, wrong parking and over-loading since it causes most accidents that occurres in the country.
She appealed to the drivers to abide by the road safety regulations and rules in order to avoid frivolous accidents.
The Drivers Unions led by Nana Yaw Kwakye on the other hand thanked the Omanhemaa for her quick support towards their work as she promised them during her installation as a Queen last year and commended her so much for what she has done on their behalf.
He said all the drivers Unions are in support of all what she doing for them and they are ever ready to assist the renovation works of the building with their financial contributions to sustain the DVLA office in Berekum.
The Driver's Unions called on the Government to fulfill it's promises made to the Berekum people to construct the town roads for them.
Nana Yaw Kwakye thanked the Omanhemaa for her contributions towards total transformation of Berekum to gain its status of Golden City.
