BEREKUM HAS VOTED FOR NPP FOR THE PAST 19 YEARS BUT WITHOUT DEVELOPMENT - OMANHENE OF BEREKUM


BEREKUM OMANHENE CALLS ON GOVERNMENT FOR A QUICK START OF SINO-HYDRO ROAD PROJECTS IN BEREKUM.

The Omanhene of Berekum Traditional Area, Daasebere Dr Amankona Diawuo II, has made a passionate appeal to the government of Ghana to quick-start Berekum inner city roads as   promised in the Sinohydro projects.

The paramount chief made this statement during a visit to his palace by the Regional  Minister of Bono Region, Hon. Evelyn Ama Kumi Richardson and the Deputy Minister, Hon. Siaka Stevens to familiarize themselves with the chiefs and people of both Berekum East and West Assemblies.
The chief said, the people of Berekum for the past 19 years have been voted solely for New Patriotic Party (NPP) but their share of national cake has not been forthcoming over the years, especially, their poor road network which have been neglected by  past governments.
Daasebre Dr Amankona Diawuo II, explained that, though golden city inner roads was captured in the two previous read budget statements, of which the people of Berekum are aware they were not done.
He hinted that if the government does not start the Sinohydro project but wait till next year the people of Berekum will not forgive NPP government.
He thanked the Vice President Dr Mahamadu Bawumia for listening to them when he visited them last year that the Berekum roads will be constructed but the chief said, people of Berekum are eagerly waiting for the government to start the project.

The Bono Regional Minister Hon. Evelyn Ama Kumi Richardson on her part assured the chiefs and people of Berekum to be rest assured that the NPP government would fulfil all the promises this time around.
She said, apart from the inner city projects which will soon start, there would be other secondary city projects that will add more edifice to the two markets in Berekum to boost government support of the people of Berekum.

The Bono Regional Minister and the Deputy Minister visited some of the completed and ongoing projects in the Berekum East and West Assemblies which she commended them for the judicial use of their common funds.

The MCE of Berekum East Hon. Kofi Adjei thanked the ministers for paying homage to the chiefs and people of Berekum.
From Berekum East Municipal, the Regional Minister and the Deputy Minister also went to  the Berekum West District Assembly to inspect some of the ongoing projects in the District.

Omanhene of Berekum Traditional Area, Dasebre Dr Amankona Diawuo II Passes On. The Omanhene of Berekum Traditional Area in the Berekum Municipal of the Bono Region Dasebre Dr Amankona Diawuo II has passed on. The announcement of the demise of the Berekum Traditional leader was done today Friday 9th June 2023 by the chief spiritualist of Berekum Nana Komfo Kofi who was asked to take care of the health of the paramount chief but on his announcement, the paramount chief could not make it but joined his ancestors. Dasebre Dr Amankona Diawuo II was a doctor by profession and an active Church elder of the Church of Pentecost who serve the people of Berekum with calm and peaceful leadership who seek to maintain peace and unity after 17 years of chieftaincy dispute during his reign as the paramount chief of Berekum. A Student of Ghana National College from Sunyani-Chiraa Scores 8A's in 2023 WASSCE.  A Senior High Student of Ghana National College in Cape Coast, Owusu Peprah Priscilla who hails from Chiraa in the Sunyani West Municipality of the Bono Region has also scored 8A's in the West Africa Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).  Her effort and the results she obtained have brought great joy to her family and the people of Chiraa without hesitation wishing her congratulations on most of the social media platforms. She started her basic education at Solomon Bennet Memorial School in Sunyani from her infancy.  Priscilla's family and well-wishers are appealing to the government as a matter of urgency to help ensure the right course of study will be offer to her at her tertiary education level.
