BEREKUMMAN CITIZENS ASSOCIATION CALLS ON BONO REGIONAL MINISTER HON. MRS. EVELYN AMA KUMI RICHARDSON
BEREKUMMAN CITIZENS ASSOCIATION PAY HOMAGE TO BONO REGIONAL MINISTER.
The vibrant Association in Berekum which is seeking for the progress and development of Berekumman has Tuesday, 28th May, 2019 paid a courtesy call to the Bono Regional Minister, Hon. Mrs Evelyn Ama Kumi Richardson to welcome and congratulate her for being appointed as the first female Minister of Bono Region.
Berekumman Citizens Association which is internationally recognized and headed by Global Chairman Rev. Kofi Kyere, have branches across the globe including America, Canada, Germany, United Kingdom, Italy, France, Spain, Demark, Belgium, Brazil, Australia, and many countries you can think of visited the office of the minister to appreciate her for her good works.
The local Executives of the Association in Berekum with a team of delegation met the Regional Minister and presented to her the vision and objectives of the Association.
The delegation was led by the Association Operations Manager, Mr Ali Mohammed and the Acting Chairperson Nana Abenaa Kyeraa Kentenbutu II, the Women's Organizer, Tabea Janet, the Action Group leader, Atta Hamza and the Secretary of the local chapter, Rev. Richard Adu Manu briefed the Minister about some of the projects the Association has embarked on since its inception in the past one and half years including Berekum Road markings of Zebra Crossings, planting of royal palm trees along the high streets of Berekum, Jinijini, Koraso and Nkantanka, donation of incubator and breast (i) machines to Holy Family and Happy Hospitals, free health screening including free cancer screening for women in Berekum, the record of which showed a huge number of cases as well as clean-up exercises.
The Association also created the platform to educate the citizenry on some of the social issues like drug abuse, teenage pregnancy, sanitations, et cetera through their weekly programs on Shalom Radio and Akomapa fm in Berekum. The Association also took the opportunity to highlight about some of the projects they intend doing that is to construct an ultra modern toilet facility with built-in Police Post to give the city a facelift.
Hon. Evelyn Ama Kumi Richardson on her part thanked the Association for coming to her office to encourage her to do more for the people of Bono Region.
She advised the Association to also keep on working hard in partnership with government in nation building so that the people will benefit from all that they are doing to transform Berekum.
She again urged the leaders of the Association to work closely and hand in hand with the Municipal and District Assembly's authorities to enhance better relationship to produce good results for the community members.
Hon. Evelyn Ama Kumi Richardson motivated the Association to unite with the leaders in authority to help bridge the developmental gab we find ourselves in Berekum. She said the government alone cannot do all the developmental projects in the country so we need other bodies to partner the government to expand development in the country. She finally welcomed the Association to her office and said her doors are open wide especially to those who are ready to support the government with its mandate.
