The Krontire Royal Family of Berekum Traditional Area comprising of Awrempe, Senase, Abi, Kutre and Jamdede has on 27th May, 2019 installed Nana Asoma Sabi (I)as the Krontrehene of Berekum Traditional Area and for that matter to be the Berekum Senasehene.
Nana Asoma Sabi (I) who was born in 16th August, 1955 is from Ayokuo family of Berekum and started his primary education at the Berekum Methodist Primary and Middle School and furthered at the Apam Senior Secondary School.
He is a businessman and was formally working at the Department of Ghana Co-operative as a District Auditor.
The installation of Nana Asoma Sabi (l)was made possible after the family kingmakers decided to install a new person for the position in Berekum due to a long protracted chieftaincy disputes between the former Krontirehene and the Omanhene of Berekum Traditional Area Dasebre Dr Amankona Dewuo II that was settled at the Supreme Court of Ghana .
The court case ended just last year and the Omanhene of Berekum Traditional Area was crowned the winner of the case. To this end the Krontirehene was removed from his position making it possible for a new person to be installed.
The swearing in ceremony was done at the Berekum Krontrehene's Palace where Nana Asoma Sabi (I) swore to the kingmakers and the chiefs of the Awrempe family in the presence of all the family members.
The chiefs in turn including Kutrehene, Nana Kwasi Gyan Nyarko Abronoma, Abihene, Nana Oppong Tai Senti and Jamdedehene, Nana Boakye Adjei were all sworn to the new chief to show their commitment to work together with the Krontrehene.
The five chiefs regretted that the long chieftaincy disputes among the various fashions did not bear any good fruits for Berekumman and called on all the chiefs in Berekum to seek the progress, welfare and developoment of the Golden City.
Nana Asoma Sabi (I) also assured all the family members and the kingmakers that he will do all his best to maintain peace and unity in the family. He said, the Krontre Royal Family was lagging behind in development and pledged to work hard to bring change to his people.
