BEREKUM AHENFIE HOTEL ADJUDGED THE BEST 2 STAR HOTEL IN BRONG AHAFO REGION FOR 2018

The Royal Unity Lodge, popularly known as Ahenfie hotel in Berekum of the Brong Ahafo Region was last Friday 22nd February, 2019 hosted the 2018 Brong Ahafo Regional Tourism Awards Ceremony to awards the players in the hospitality industry in the region for their excellent work to promote tourism in the country.
Royal Unity Lodge aka Ahenfie Hotel which hosted the awards night took away two awards and was adjudged the best 2 star hotel in the Brong Ahafo Region.
The Manageress of the Hotel, Madam Jennifer Dartey thanked Almighty God and the organizers for the award but dedicated the award to the staff and management of the hotel for their hard work to achieve this . She promised to keep on with the quality services to maintain the standards of 2 star hotel in the Brong Ahafo Region.
Among the dignitaries present were the Omanhene and Omanhemaa of Berekum Traditional area , Nana Daasebre (Dr)Amankona Diawuo II and Nana Akosua Ameyaahene III respectively and some Divisional Chiefs.
Other Dignitaries were Berekum East Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Hon. Kofi Adjei, Berekum East Constituency Member of Parliament (MP), Hon. Dr. Kwabena Twum Nuamah, NPP Berekum East Constituency Chairman, Mr Kwaku Kamkam and the party Executives, the Clergymen, CEO's of Hospitality industries in the Brong Ahafo Region and the media Personnels.

The guest of honour Nana Daasebre Dr Amankona Diawuo II in his address said, gone were the days when the traditional rulers were hosting strangers in their palaces for their transits but now the operators of hospitality Industries in the country are doing their best to make the country attractive. He encouraged them to keep on with the good works and make sure all bad names that have been tagged against their businesses are completely removed.  He further said , with hard work they will reap the best in the tourism industry.
The MCE, Hon. Kofi Adjei who represented the Regional Minister in his statement , congratulated the operators in the industry and said the government is ever ready to support their operations.
He said, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Arts is a special created ministry for the tourism businesses in Ghana,therefore , advised them to make good use of the ministry. He urged them to adhere to the standards of their operations and working ethics.
The MP for Berekum East, Dr. Kwabena Twum Nuamah congratulated all the deserving awards winners for their hard work to chalk the best in the tourism businesses.
He urged the operators to keep on with the good works and said the government is ever willing to create the enabling environment for the tourism industry to frourish in the country.
The award categories for 2018 Brong Ahafo Regional Tourism Awards includes : Africa Origin Travel and Tours winning the the Travel Services of the Year, Obaa Yaa Chop Bar the Best Traditional Chop Bar of the Year, Eusbet Hotel Winning the Best Revenue paid Hotel and others.
In the Media categories, Nkomode fm winning the Best Tourism Program of the Year, Ghanaian Times Newspaper Writter, Daniel Dzirasa winning the Tourism Writter of the Year and TV3 adjudged Tourism Orientation Media of the Year and Royal Unity Lodge popularly known as Ahenfie Hotel winning the 2018 Brong Ahafo Regional Best 2 Star Hotel of the Year.

Omanhene of Berekum Traditional Area, Dasebre Dr Amankona Diawuo II Passes On. The Omanhene of Berekum Traditional Area in the Berekum Municipal of the Bono Region Dasebre Dr Amankona Diawuo II has passed on. The announcement of the demise of the Berekum Traditional leader was done today Friday 9th June 2023 by the chief spiritualist of Berekum Nana Komfo Kofi who was asked to take care of the health of the paramount chief but on his announcement, the paramount chief could not make it but joined his ancestors. Dasebre Dr Amankona Diawuo II was a doctor by profession and an active Church elder of the Church of Pentecost who serve the people of Berekum with calm and peaceful leadership who seek to maintain peace and unity after 17 years of chieftaincy dispute during his reign as the paramount chief of Berekum. The announcement of his demise was welcomed by a host of chiefs and dignitaries from all walks of life including the Paramount Queen mother of Berekum, Nana Akosua Ameyaahene II, A

A Student of Ghana National College from Sunyani-Chiraa Scores 8A's in 2023 WASSCE.  A Senior High Student of Ghana National College in Cape Coast, Owusu Peprah Priscilla who hails from Chiraa in the Sunyani West Municipality of the Bono Region has also scored 8A's in the West Africa Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).  Her effort and the results she obtained have brought great joy to her family and the people of Chiraa without hesitation wishing her congratulations on most of the social media platforms. She started her basic education at Solomon Bennet Memorial School in Sunyani from her infancy.  Priscilla's family and well-wishers are appealing to the government as a matter of urgency to help ensure the right course of study will be offer to her at her tertiary education level.
