JINIJINI POLICE STATION CALLING FOR SUPPORT



BEREKUM WEST DISTRICT POLICE STATION NEEDS SUPPORT

The over 50 years rented apartment of the Ghana Police Service at Jinijini the district capital of Berekum West is in need of office refurbishment as the police station now serves the whole  Berekum West.
The landlady of the rented house, Madam Charlotte Pokuaa has changed the face of the police station by painting the whole building and replacing the windows with Louvre brades to give it a new look.
Madam Pokuaa speaking to Alrich24newsgh.com said, though she was willing to tiled the floor but lack of funds could not permit her. She is therefore calling on the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Hon. Kwaku Agyenim Boateng and the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Isaac Osei to support her by completing the rest of the renovation she has started at the Police Station.
Alrich24newsgh.com visit to the police station indicates that, though the landlady has done her part by painting the building but there is a lot the leaders in the Berekum West District can do to support the Police Station.
The floor has to be tiled, the station counter which has been destroyed has to be changed including the furniture at the offices.
The DCE Hon. Isaac Osei together with the Berekum Municipal Police Commander, Chief Supritendent  Nicolas Ofosu-Hene also toured the place. Hon. Isaac Osei explained that, he has seen what is going on at the police station but said he will also do his best to get them some furniture and other equipments they may need immediately.
He said the counter which has been destroyed will be replaced with concrete one.
Chief Supritendent Nicolas Opare Ofosu-Hene also advised the officers at Jinijini police station to keep up with the good works they are doing especially the night petrols to combat  armed robbery in the area.
Alrich24newsgh.com can confidently congratulate the people of Jinijini as at the time we visited the Jinijini police station non of the citizens have been arrested and this indicates that the people are very disciplined.
According to the MP, Hon. Kwaku Agyenim Boateng, Jinijinihene, Nana Tutu Baffour Asare has handed over a parcel of land to be used for the construction of District Police Station.


He said the land is now being developed for work to commence. The site is opposite the Jinijini Senior High School.
He said he is also coming with some amount  of money to support the police station for the mean time.
In another development, the residence of Berekum-Jamdede close to Effah Dartey Guest House are calling on the Municipal Police Commander to send some of  the Community Police Protection Unit to come to their rescue as armed robbers are terrorising them in their houses.
