BEREKUM OMANHEMAA PROPOSE FOR DVLA OFFICE IN BEREKUM
The Omanhemaa of Berekum Traditional Council in the Brong Ahafo Region, Nana Akosua Ameyaahene III, has proposed for a Driving and Vehicle License Authority (DVLA) branch office to be open in Berekum to serve the drivers in the Berekum Municipality and it's environs which always acquired their Licences from Regional DVLA office which is in Sunyani.
Nana Hemaa did emphasized that, some towns like Dormaa Ahenkoro, Sampa, Seikwa, Suma Ahenkoro, Drobo, Nsuatre, Japekrom and other communities will be benefited from this office when opened, because all these towns traveled to Sunyani but, pass through Berekum before they will finally reach Sunyani for their Licences and other driving particulars acquisition thinking the cost and hurdles they go through for their acquisition processing. Nana said all these challenges can be overcome by putting up a DVLA nearby office in Berekum to help the drivers acquire their licenses as quickly as possible.
She said sitting a DVLA office in Berekum will definitely help the drivers and car owners in these area.
Berekum Omanhemaa therefore appealed to the Brong Ahafo Regional Minister and the Director of DVLA in the country to respond to her call to build a DVLA branch office for motor and car users as well as drivers in Berekum and it's surrounding towns to make their Licence acquisition less stressful in the region.
Nana Akosua Ameyaahene III said, a parcels of land has already been allocated for the office of DVLA, if authorities will agree to establish a branch office of DVLA in Berekum to be precise.
She said opening a DVLA office in Berekum will in another way augment the employment opportunities for the people of Berekum thereby harnessing the employment avenues in the country.
She said, until a DVLA office is open in Berekum, the drivers will keep on queuing for their licenses and other driving related documents all because of lack of DVLA office closer to them.
Berekum Omanhemaa Nana Akosua Ameyaahene III concluded that it's her wish to see to it that the youth in Berekum will get jobs to do so that they will be a burden in the society.
