BEREKUM TRADITIONAL COUNCIL  OUTDOORED NEW QUEEN MOTHER.

The chiefs and people of Berekum Traditional Area in the Brong Ahafo Region has witnessed a massive well organized celebrations of an outdoor event which has over 45 years ago has not been seen in Berekum Traditional Area, the outdooring ceremony of the newly  enstooled Queen mother, Nana Kosua Ameyaahene III as the Omanhemaa of Berekum Traditional Area is what the Berekum people has described it as a time for a new beginning for the Golden City.

The program which was well attended by the people of Berekum saw all the chiefs, Queen mother's Association's President of Ghana, Nana Abenaa Boatenmaa, political leaders, the clergymen, Inman's, and heads of institutions in the Berekum city were all in attendance.

The newly enstooled Queen mother Nana Kosua Ameyaahene III succeeded Nana Akua Ameyaahene II the former Queen mother of Berekum who passed away last year and a final funeral rites was held for her some two months ago in Berekum. The enstoolment of
Nana Kosua Ameyaahene III has brought some kind of unity to Berekum the Golden City which has retrogressed for the past eighteen years all because of chieftaincy disputes.

In her speech Nana Akosua Ameyaahene III thanked the people of Berekumman with the honour done her and called for Unity and love among every Citizen of Berekum both at home and abroad.

Nana Kosua Ameyaahene III made emphasis of the bad name Berekum has got and said she has come to bring change to Berekum as the golden city.

She said Berekum is going to develop and all should come together to support the chiefs in Berekum so that what Berekum has lag behind for all these years in terms of development and progress will come into reality. She said Berekum has now got it's Omanhene Dr Dasebre Amankona Dewuo and also got Queen mother Nana Kosua Ameyaahene III and said henceforth a great difference of development is what is going to take effect in the golden city.

She called on the Berekum Citizens as well as everyone to ignore all the bad name that has been reported about Berekum which she believes they are all not the true picture of Berekum. She encouraged the youth to desist from all forms of illegal means to enrich themselves but cultivate the culture of hard work which the fore fathers of Berekum left behind.

The Omanhene of Berekum Traditional Area Dr Dasebre Amankona Dewuo on his part also called for Unity among the people of Berekum to keep on supporting Nananom and appreciated the Berekum people to make the out dooring of the Omanhemaa Nana Kosua Ameyaahene III a success.
He said some years has gone without Berekum achieving anything developmental and said this is the new day which Berekum people should come together to have one common purpose to see Berekum develop. He said everyone has a duty to keep on supporting Nananom to bring development and change to Berekum.

The Berekum Omanhene Dr Dasebre Amankona Dewuo also called on the government to fulfill every promised he has made to the people of Berekum especially on the Berekum town roads and inner roads reconstruction.

The people of Berekum has expressed this event as the one that will bring back the unity and peace the town has lost for the past eighteen years due to chieftaincy challenges that town experienced.

Berekum Katohemaa reinntroduces Traditional Akan Games for Children at Kato Community.
