BEREKUMMAN CITIZENS ASSOCIATION CELEBRATES  ITS 1ST ANNIVERSARY!

In the Akan adage that goes, if one misses the Traditional Chief horns in a public gathering such a person misses from the gathering is an indisputable idea that has brought the people of Berekum together both home and abroad to form one common association dubbed Berekumman Citizens Association.
The Association, formed a year ago,  by a group of Berekum indigens at home and abroad has become a formidable association in Berekum and it is the mouthpiece of Berekum people.

Berekumman Citizens Association, just in one year period , has chalked a lot of noteworthy progress and development in Berekum.
The Association which was formed to promote and support the Berekum Traditional area to bring transformation in Educational sector, Sanitation, Health, Water, Roads, Security, Promotion of Peace and Unity among the Berekum people.

The Association's founder Evangelist Paul Osei Agyemang popular known as Agyapasei together with the Global Chairman Rev. Kofi Kyere Diabour and all the Executive members in Ghana and abroad have done a marvelous work to push Berekum forward into the developmental arena.
Berekumman Citizens Association for the past one year has done its best to proof to the Berekum people that the association has come to stay for good regardless of all the challenges that confronted the association.
The association which was registered already, has been introduced to the Berekum Traditional Council led by Omanhene, Dr Dasebre Amankona Dewuo II, the Political leaders both NPP and NDC, the Berekum MCE Hon. Kofi Adjei, Berekum West DCE Hon. Isaac Osei, the Security Agencies, Heads of Institutions, Pastors,   Inman's, Churches, Mosques, Market Women, Media and to all the Berekum Citizens.

ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE ASSOCIATION

ROADS
Berekumman Citizens Association for the past one year started its social call of painting the pavements and road markings in the city to beautify the city such as zebra crossings and pedestrians markings.

SANITATION
 The association , as its social responsibility, has help keep the city clean by organising , a weekly clean up exercises to make sure all the choked gutters are cleared to boost sanitation standards in Berekum city as well as cleaning all the streets. These clean up exercises and campaigns was conducted during the Association formative stages and it was witnessed during the inauguration week in August 2018.
On the occasion of the association's inauguration the representative of Berekum Traditional Council, Osabrima Otwakwan Kwabena Dewuo II, the Wrempehene of Berekum said, that Nananom is in full support of the association, and said the association should do all that they can to sustain it because they believe the association can bring development to Berekum people.

HEALTH
The association has made sure the Citizens of Berekum would enjoy good health by conducting free Health Screening Exercises at some vantage points in Berekum such as Omanhene's park and the entrance of the Berekum Golden City gate to check the health status of hepatitis B, sugar levels, blood pressure and others for the people of Berekum.
During the inauguration of the association, a team of Health experts was brought from Kumasi and Cape Coast to screen breast cancer and to create awareness of Breast cancer in women which was held at Omanhene's park and the Happy Hospital.  Some women in Berekum , over thousand (1000) ,participated in the three (3) day exercise. Some women , who were, found with breast cancer would be assisted by the Association.
The association is seriously soliciting funds from Berekum Citizens both Home and abroad for the purchase of an incubator for the Berekum Holy Family Hospital neonatal unit.
Berekumman Citizens Association was launched on 26th August 2018. The Association, during its inauguration, set a goal of building one Health Facility for the people of Berekum.

WATER
Berekumman Citizens Association , with contributions and donations from its members has made a history which will never be blotted from the history books in Berekum when the Association considering ,the plight of others , to construct boreholes for the people in the remote communities like Adukrom, Antredua, Kutre No.1, Kotaa Forest and Kwatwim in the Berekum Municipality.

EDUCATION
The association , with its objectives, is making sure there is development in education in Berekum . The Association, has through , its members sponsored Initiative printed over Twenty thousands (20,000) copies of Exercises Books to be distributed freely to all the basic schools and school children in Berekum to promote education and to encourage the children to study hard for a better future.
In this year's national maths and science quiz, Berekum Citizens Association supported the Berekum Senior High School and Berekum Presbyterian Senior High School , the two schools were given an amount of Gh500.00 each to motivate them to deliver their best during the contest.
The Association’s Students chapter , Tertiary Management , also organized Games to create awareness and educate Berekum people, especially the youth to desist from tramadol and other drug abuse. The inter tertiary institutions games was organized by the association to bring unity and love among the association tertiary students.

SECURITY
Berekumman Citizens Association has collaborated with the Security Agencies in Berekum by providing for the Citizens a good security through the association Security Committee members. Much details have been gathered by the association as to how the Fulani's headsmen were able to locate themselves at Kotaa Forest which has affected badly the farms at Kotaa, Akrofo, Apenkro, Abisasi and Tewbabi.
The association has never relented on its security to Berekum people.

PEACE AND UNITY
Berekumman Citizens Association ,one of its core mandates , apart from all aspects , is to promote peace, unity and love among the people of Berekum which the association has done it.
The association has tried its best to promote peace and stability in Berekum through its sponsored weekly radio program on Akomapa fm and Shalom Radio in Berekum.
The association , from day one,has contributed a lot to the life of Berekum people which a lot is expected from the association.
All the members of the association in Ghana and abroad have praised themselves for coming together to form Berekumman Citizens Association which they believe in one thing , “together we build ,divided we fall”.

FUNDING
Berekumman Citizens Association , not owned by anybody but the people of Berekum , is being financed by its members .
From day one, members who have Berekum at heart , have donated and supported the association with what they have in terms of finance and material things.
With one mind and heart let's all join hands with the leaders and executives to say Ayekooo, Bravo to Berekumman Citizens Association for having one year ! May the name of Jehovah God be praised for what He has done for Berekumman Citizens Association , these are the words from founder , Agyapasei and the Global Chairman , Rev. Kofi Kyere Diabour and the entire executives of Berekumman Citizens Association both Home and Abroad.
