NPRA Takes Pension Drive to Nkwabeng Technical Institute, Donates 1000 Exercise Books. The National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA) has extended its youth sensitization campaign to Nkwabeng Technical Institute (NTI) in the Nkoranza South Municipality in the Bono East Region as part of efforts to promote early pension savings and prevent old-age poverty. The sensitization, led by Mr. Kofi Asare Abrokwah, Zonal Head of the NPRA Kumasi Zonal Office, educated students on the importance of starting pension contributions early. Speaking in an interview with Fabea FM’s Apiah-Kubi, Mr. Asare said the youth must be encouraged to contribute to a pension scheme once they start earning any form of legal or indirect income. “This seminar was organized to create awareness about pension sustainability among the students and encourage them to save and invest to secure their future,” he stated. “We want to catch them young. MATERNAL DEATHS IN BONO REGION ON THE RISE. The Bono Regional Director of the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Abdulai Abukari, has expressed concern over the increasing number of maternal deaths in the region, describing the situation as alarming. According to Dr. Abukari, many mothers are dying from preventable causes, stressing that urgent interventions are needed if the region is to achieve the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) target of reducing the maternal mortality ratio to fewer than 70 deaths per 100,000 live births by 2030. He made these remarks at this year's Health Summit organised by Sustainable Impact Makers International (SIMI), an international non-governmental organisation with operations in the United States, the United Kingdom, Nigeria, Ghana and Kenya.  The summit was held in Sunyani under the theme, "Health Equity in Action: From Periods to Parenthood, for All."
