COCBOD CEO Pays Visit To Berekum Cocoa Farmers. The Chief Executive Officer of Ghana COCOBOD Dr Ransford Abbey has paid a working visit to cocoa farmers in both Berekum East and West respectively of the Bono region to interact with the farmers to encourage them in the cocoa production in the area. Dr Ransford Abbey visit was warmly welcomed by a massive patronage of the farmers to share with the CEO their interest as farmers in the cocoa production. Dr Abbey officially congratulated the farmers for their hard work in the cocoa business hence promised them of the government readiness to increase the price of cocoa higher than that of Cote' d'Ivoire in the next cocoa season. He again assured the farmers of the regular supply of farm inputs such as free fertilizers, agrochemicals, machines and other equipments to ensure more yield of cocoa is produced in the Berekum area. NEDCo rejects dumsor allegations, blames technical challenges on recent power outages. The Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo) has revealed that Sunyani is not experiencing an intense power crisis, known as ‘dumsor,’ in the Bono region. Recent week has seen a surge in power outages, prompting calls from customers including Chiraahene Barima Mintah Afari II seeking explanation from the power distribution company.  The rousing discomfort prompted the Bono Regional Minister, hon. Lawyer Joseph Addai Akwaboa, to embark on an unannounced visit to the NEDCo main power station in Sunyani to get briefing on challenges distorting power supply in the region.  The minister was briefed by the NEDCo engineers on the general challenges and toured the control room to see firsthand the information at hand. I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the recent events during the NPP’s National Thank You Tour, particularly in the Bono Region. While the tour began successfully in the Western and Western North Regions, it has been marred by the actions of Kwame Baffoe Abronye, who has transformed this initiative into an insulting and divisive experience. Abronye’s conduct shows a blatant disregard for his own regional council of elders and the regional executives at the Bono Regional Secretariat, which is alarming for the party's stability in the region. His reckless behavior poses a serious threat to the unity we need as we move toward the critical 2028 elections. We must ask ourselves: Is this a Thank You Tour or an Attacking Tour?
