The Management of Consolidated Bank Ghana as part of their expansion drive to increase their customer base has open a new branch in the Berekum East Municipality of the Bono Region.
Speaking at the official opening on Thursday 2nd May, 2024, the Deputy Managing Director of the CBG, Mr Tahiru Ndigo stated that, the opening of the bank in Berekum will go a long way to boost the already existing industrious and entrepreneurial attitude of the Berekum people.
Adding that, the industrious nature of the people of Berekum is an avenue for the bank to come to Berekum to serve them hence promise customers with convenience and trust as he urged the people to troop into the bank to experience their banking services which will help open more doors for much community services including health, education, water and among other social responsibilities to support the people of Berekum.
Osaberima Kusi Yeboah, the Chief of Berekum-Domfet who represented the Berekum Traditional Council also commended the management of CBG for opening a branch in Berekum and the reception recieved signify that their operation has been welcomed by the people of Berekum.
He advised the banking authorities to stick to their standars of operation and avoid any circumstances that may lead to the disclosure of a customer personal business account and information to the public and in preventing this will hence draw more customers to the bank in the near future.
He advised the workers and staff to treat their customers fairly especially helping old age people, sick and pensioners to avoid long queue during working hours to save some time of such people at the bank.
The Manager of Finance and Strategic of the Bank, Mr Charles Appiah on his part emphasised on customer delight and customer service will be one of the priority of the Berekum branch of CBG since without customers the bank cannot function.
He promised of a secured data of their customers and urged that, the staff of the bank has been well trained to offer flexible relationship with their customers and no data of any customer will be disclosed to the public which is against the work ethics of the staff.
The bank as part of their corporate social responsibility supported in the renovation and opening of a sick bay for the students of the Methodist Senior High and Technical School in addition, supplied them with a medicine that will cater for the sick bay for six month.
Madam Monica Oforiwaa, the Headmistress of the Methodist Senior High and Technical School commended the bank for coming to the aid of the school.
