WORLD VISION GHANA LINKS VULNERABLE CHILDREN TO OVERSEAS SPONSORS.

World Vision Ghana on Wednesday 17th April, 2024 has supported vulnerable children in some deprived communities in the Sefwi Bodi District of the Western North Region. 


Briefing the media of the purpose of the gesture, Mr Kofi Aboagye, the Community Engagementand and Sponsorship Plan Officer (CESP) of the  sefwi Bodi office of World Vision explained that, World Vision is a  Non-Governmental organisation which has a vision to register children in deprived communities and linked them to sponsors, who is also a donor to take care of those selected children with the motive of sponsoring the children in their education, providing good drinking water, sanitation, social protection and in all making sure those children will live life in fullness without distress. 



Mr Aboagye further said individual and groups from the United States of America are their main donors and sponsors for  the Bodi office of the organisation. 


''For today's event, instead of the individual or group sponsors to choose the children, it is the other ways round,  the individual or group sponsors rather brought their details and photos for the children to choose their preferred sponsors that is why today's event is dubbed CHOSEN," he said.


Mr Kofi Aboagye also told the media that, almost 25 of the sponsors are here with the children at the program to interact with the children for good communication to begin between the children and their chosen sponsor.


In  another development, World Vision Ghana again cut sod to construct a mechanised bore-hole at Sefwi Denchemuasue in the Bodi District of the Western North Region.


Addressing, the the Chiefs and People of sefwi Denchemuasue, Pastor Ephraim Smiths, said giving the people of the community is in line with the mission and vision of World Vision Ghana and for that matter providing good and portable drinking water for the people in its catchment areas is one of their core manda. The cost of the project was Ghc52,000.00.


The chief of Sefwi Denchemuasue, Nana Kwasi Gyabeng also thanked World Vision Ghana for such a kind gesture and also promised that when the project is completed, he will make sure the people will take good care of it to serve it purpose. 


The two separate events brought together officials of World Vision Ghana, including, Sponsors and donors, Madam Mabel Adobor, Sponsorship Manager and Christopher Teye, Cluster Manager.

The announcement of the demise of the Berekum Traditional leader was done today Friday 9th June 2023 by the chief spiritualist of Berekum Nana Komfo Kofi who was asked to take care of the health of the paramount chief but on his announcement, the paramount chief could not make it but joined his ancestors. A Student of Ghana National College from Sunyani-Chiraa Scores 8A's in 2023 WASSCE.  A Senior High Student of Ghana National College in Cape Coast, Owusu Peprah Priscilla who hails from Chiraa in the Sunyani West Municipality of the Bono Region has also scored 8A's in the West Africa Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).  Her effort and the results she obtained have brought great joy to her family and the people of Chiraa without hesitation wishing her congratulations on most of the social media platforms. She started her basic education at Solomon Bennet Memorial School in Sunyani from her infancy.  Priscilla's family and well-wishers are appealing to the government as a matter of urgency to help ensure the right course of study will be offer to her at her tertiary education level.
