BUILSA COMMUNITY IN BEREKUM ENSKIN NEW CHIEF.
Following the demise of the Late Builsa Chief, Smart Ayomah in 2022, the
Builsa in the Berekum Community has since elected a new Chief by the name of Nab Philip Asaalimba.
The elections were supervised by a representative of the Zongo Chief and at the end of the day, Apostle Philip Asaalimba was declared a winner over his competitor Mr. Joseph Adaawan.
The Builsas in Berekum, have long been expecting a unifier and they sought to find that either in Mr. Joseph Adaawan or Apostle Philip Asaalimba.
The elections came to an end
with Apostle Philip Asaalimba pulling a total of 196 votes while his competitor pulled 67 votes
which represented the voice of the electorates and the Builsa people in the comments.
The victory of Apostle Philip Asaalimba was a victory for all Builsas. However, Mr Joseph Adaawan was highly commended for his tolerance and comportment through the defeat
period which meant he was a man of peace.

To cement his victory and authority over the people of Builsa in Berekum, there was the need for the chief elect, to be commemorative, sworn in by the Zongo Chief in Berekum known as
Nana Old Soldier afterwards led the elect chief to the Gyaasi Division of the Berekum Traditional area to also be sworn before the Gyaasihemaa Nana Adwoa Sumera and her elders that was done on Saturday 2nd December 2023 at his Gyaasi Roayl Palace.
After the Programme, he was encouraged and advised to remain loyal, and humble and be a good listener and a
unifier to lead the Builsa community in Berekum.
The newly-enskinned chief Apostle Nab Philip Asaalimba who is the founder of Universal Vision Church at Biadan in Berekum promised to unit all the Builsas living in Berekum and called on them to live in harmony with each other as they have all come from far and near to live as one people in Berekum.
He therefore called on the people to rally behind him to lead them in the promotion of Builsa culture and togetherness with like-minded to seek the good and welfare of the Builsas in Berekum.
