1D1F TOMATOES FACTORY HITS BEREKUM WEST DISTRICT.

One of the president Nana Akuffo Addo's flagship program 1D1F which has been embraced across the country has yielded another fruit. This time round at Domfete in the Berekum West District of the Bono Region. 

The DCE for Berekum West District, Hon. Isaac Osei together with the 20 chiefs and their elders in the District has paid a working visit to the multi million dollar   tomatoes factory which is currently at 80% completion, to encourage and motivate the CEO of the factory for the realistic achievement of 1D1F in the District.

This is a familiarization tour organized by the DCE to aquint themselves of the activities at the factory and to also commend the President Nana Akuffo Addo for supporting them.

Speaking to Alrich24newsgh.com the CEO of the tomatoes factory, Mr Yaw Owusu Boahen expressed his gratitude to the DCE and the Chiefs for showing concern of the project by paying visit to the site. He said, the motive behind the factory is that, the President HE Nana Addo Danqua Akuffo Addo promised on his 2016 campaign tour to the people of Berekum West that if he is voted into power, he will bring a tomatoes factory to Berekum since he saw Fetenta one of the towns in the district is doing well in tomatoes plantation and has become a hub for tomatoes supply in the country and that the President, H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo saw the need to support him establish the factory under 1D1F.
On production, he said the factory, upon completion will produce tomatoes paste and concentrate that can last for 3 years. Some of which will be available for both local and international market to boost economic sustainability.

He continued that, most of the tomatoes that will serve as raw material for the factory will be planted in the area by the local farmers and other farmers in the Bono Ahafo and Ashanti regions and that, seedlings will be supplied to the farmers at no cost to plant to supply to the factory.

Tomato farmers in the area were advised to partner the factory as they are ready to support them with bore holes and seedlings with technical advice in addition. A seed center will be opened for all the farmers to get good seeds for plantation.

Mr. Yaw Owusu Boahen appealed to the Chiefs and elders within the district to release more land for the project as the President has keen interest in the factory because it is one of the factories he is making sure to function as he promised Ghanaians.
The President is committed to revamp the economy with such interventions.
The factory is expected to employ over 1,500 people direct and indirect including unemployed youth in the district.

The traditional council present at the facility shared their views and comments on progress at the factory.

The Chief of Jinjini- Nana Baffour Tutu Asare II on behalf of the council thanked the Mr Yaw Owusu Boahen for the vision to establish the factory in the district to support the people.
He pledged their support towards the project and will plan a communal labor to support the factory as part of their widows mite for the project.
The Chief of Domfete, Nana Kusi Yeboah II,  the land where the tomatoes factory is situated showered blessings upon the business and also called on all the chiefs to stand in to support the project by releasing their lands in support of the progress of the factory. He also thanked the DCE and the Nananom for paying visit to the factory.

The chiefs reiterated that job opportunities be made available for their people when the factory is opened.

Some of the indigens present were glad to see the establishment of a factory in their area and promised their total support. They challenged their colleague farmers to embrace the initiative to partner with factory to start planting tomatoes in their farms since there is going to be a ready market for it.

NSOATRE TRADITIONAL COUNCIL CONDEMNS THE VIOLENCE ACT THAT RESULTED THE DEATH OF KOTOKO SUPPORTER. The Nsoatre Traditional Council has condemns the uncouth behavour of some of the football fans that led to the untimely death of an ardent supporter of Kumasi Asante Football Club.  According to Nsuatre Traditional Council this  unfortunate behaviour happened on the stool land of Nsoatre which the council sees as unfortunate due to the cordial relationship between Nsoatreman and Asanteman which is dated back to 1740.
